A cozy sweater and satin skirt equal both parts comfy and glam for ringing in the New Year at home this year. New Years Eve has always been a time for celebrating and getting dolled up for an elegant evening with family and friends.

If you've followed this blog for a while then you know I adore an ultra feminine look and nothing seems more feminine to me than blush, rose gold, and a beautiful full skirt. This look is soft and girly with a little toughness from the moto jacket, but still lovely in a pink shade with rose gold accents. I usually have to watch with midi skirts since I'm petite (only 5'2), but this one hits at the right length without overwhelming me or making me look shorter than I already am!

Candy Color Crush

Happy Friday everyone! Like the title of this post says, it's all about some brightly inspired candy colors. While fall is right around the corner, and you better believe I am excited for it, I do not want to let go of summer quite yet. There is still a few more precious weeks to go out and enjoy the season we all wished was here when it was snowing. What I love about this outfit is of course the color scheme, but also how the blazer and shorts can be paired separately to create different outfits. See how I styled the blazer here. This silky bow top has been a closet staple for me ever since I got it last year. Pair it with jeans and some chic flats or with a skirt and some pointy toed pumps. You simply cannot go wrong with it. Also, these pink heels seriously make me smile. I love the fit and color of them. I'll be rocking these even as the fall season approaches. You can still wear lighter colors throughout the year! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!

Spring Pinks
Inspiration Wednesday
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday. We're half way to the weekend! Enjoy!
Pretty Pink
Valentine's Day Dress
Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is almost here and with that means Valentine's Day is one more day away! I simply cannot wait and I'm also so excited to share some big news with you on the day devoted to love. I've had some much fun getting these outfits together this past week. The inspiration for this outfit came from Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany's. In the scene where she comes home from a party, she's wearing a bright pink dress with a big bow and sparkling pink tierra. This Jennifer Lopez for Kohls dress with tiny bows at the waist instantly reminded me of the dress, mostly because of the standout color. Since the weather is on the freezing side in my area, I added a soft pink chiffon blouse underneath from Modcloth. The blush sequined purse from Target really adds a celebratory feeling and compliments the dress rather nicely. I wanted to pile my hair into a high bun and added a dainty LC Lauren Conrad pin for a simple touch.
Lady Like
Tulle
Sigh, this is the skirt dreams are made of, well mine are at least. I have such a love for tulle skirts, especially ones that make me feel like a ballerina. While the skirt is very feminine, the other parts of the outfit are neutral, which balance each other out giving a nice lady like effect. I choose black as my neutral here and opted for a blush tone with the heels instead of black. It blends nicely with the skirt and also gives the illusion of longer legs. This is a perfect holiday outfit might I add. Glam, yet understated and completely lovely.
Ballerina Ball
Ballerina Fairy Tale
This had to be one of my favorite outfits to photograph. I felt like a ballerina and fairy princess all rolled into one. Believe me, there were many twirling moments that occurred. I kept my hair up in a big loose ballerina bun accented by a pearl headband. The glittery gold shoes are another recent addition to my collection. I fell in love with the Enzo Angiolini brand since they fit so well and look stylish, while also being comfortable to walk in. Jewelry wise I wanted to keep it simple. My usual necklace and bracelet (the necklace a gift from Justin and the tennis bracelet from my mom) with pink earrings and an additional pink rhinestone bracelet. The dress was a gift from Justin for my most recent birthday.
Here is a close up of the shoes from a photo I took on Memorial Day
Blush in Bloom
Lovely Lace
Recently I've been getting into vintage hats. I adore the delicate pink flowers on this one. It feels so feminine and fresh for Spring and Summer. To compliment the look I chose a blush lace dress with a vintage beaded clutch from my grandmother. The beading has little pink flowers on it. The broach is also vintage with pink rhinestones and a gold finish. I wanted the shoes to be more modern with the height and decided on a pair of nude color ones so they would blend in with the outfit. Notice the tips of the heels have little rhinestones on them. I wore this outfit to my friends baby shower since she is having a little girl, I can't wait to meet you little Madison!, and also, this would be perfect for a lunch date with friends or for some afternoon tea.
Birds of a Feather
Peacock Feathers and Mint Mirages
This simple Spring outfit contains three of my favorite things. One being peacock feathers, the other two being the colors mint and blush. It's a color combo that never fails for me. The shirt is from LC Lauren Conrad and the skirt from Forever 21. I piled on blue and green jewelry, especially the peacock necklace, which also happens to come from Forever 21. My favorite accessory here, the Steve Madden purse from TJ Maxx, blends in so perfectly with the outfit. Its blush tone and flower applique make it the epitome spring time carry all. The outfit feels fresh and feminine, plus has the luxury of being lightweight making it a great transition piece into the warmer summer months ahead. On a quick side note, the peacock naturally replaces its feathers annually, making it a symbol of renewal, which also co-indices with the symbolism of Spring being a renewal of the earth.
Blushing Beauty
Lipstick Confidential
To go hand in hand with yesterday's post, the blushing beauty trend continues with Luscious Lips to perk up your day. My favorite lipsticks tend to be on the pinker side, but do not get me wrong, I love a good classic crimson as well. Another great way to brighten up the day or mood is with a simple swipe of lipstick. Not only will this make your teeth look whiter, but it also makes you look more polished and put together. Win win in my book!
The Lipstick brands and names in order from left to right are:
- Revlon: Pink Cognito
- Sonia Kashuk: Hit of Pink
- Sugar: Rose
- Sonia Kashuk:Blushing
- Mark: Sweetie Pie (I wore this on my wedding day!)
Nothing feels more ladylike than twirling up the lipstick in the tube and then gently gliding it onto your lips. Pure perfection.
