Shein

Pretty Pleats Please

Yellow Pleated Dress c/o || Leopard Heels || Leopard Box Bag || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o || Crystal Link Bracelet ||

This dress! I love a good pleated dress for the beautiful movement it allows and also the distinct femininity it has. This was a huge hit at Ava’s school too! So many moms came up to me to tell me how much they liked the dress. A true winner in my book when that happens. The color is incredibly vibrant and stunning too. It’s lightweight and comes with a sash for the belt, which is essential since there is technically no waist to the dress without it. The dress fits true to size (i’m in an XS for reference.)

Celebrating Shein’s 11th Anniversary in Fall Style

Cream Sweater Top And Skirt Set c/o || Similar Pink Belt || Similar Blush Circle Bag || Blush Velvet Heels || Olive Branch Earrings c/o ||

First off, happy 11th Anniversary to Shein! I’ve been working with them for about four years now and I am so happy to see them continue to succeed. I was asked to put together five different fall themed outfits for their celebration, which is what this post is all about. I wanted the outfits to range from casual cozy to chic and glam, which represents all of the different styles you can find at Shein. All pieces fit true to size and helped ring in the new month of October today. A very happy October to you as well! Two frequent questions I get asked about Shein would be their shipping and quality. I’ve never experienced an issue with shipping, which takes about a week in a half to two weeks to arrive. The quality depends on the item chosen. Obviously, a $5 top will differ from a $40 dress. That being said, I’ve received some amazing pieces a great prices, like this leopard coat, which is only $45. A true steal! No joke, it kept me sooooo incredibly warm that I was almost sweating. All of their pieces in this post are under $50. While typically thought of as an affordable trendy fast fashion destination, they also carry pieces that are classic staples, which I tend to gravitate towards, though I do like to try out some trendy pieces here and there! Once again, a very happy anniversary to them.

With gorgeous pearl detailing along the front, neck, cuffs, and pockets, this piece is sure to keep you polished all season long.

Also, may we never forget the horrific events of September 11th, 2001 and pray for all of those affected. It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 years already. I remember that day crystal clear as if it were yesterday. All of the victims, their family’s, friends, and loved ones are in my thoughts today and everyday.

A Fall Floral Dream

Dark Floral Dress c/o || Ava’s Sunflower Dress c/o || Karen Walker Sunglasses || Basket Bag || Pink Bow Flats || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! One item on my bucket list has always been to visit a flower farm and over this past weekend, it finally became a reality! What dreamy day it was too. The weather was absolutely perfect for taking in all of natures splendor. The views were breathtaking and gave an overall sense of calm when gazing out upon the colorful land. Needless to say, Ava and I had an absolute blast. She loved seeing all of the sunflowers, zinnia’s, and especially running through the vast fields. Not only are there flower fields, but the Lakeland Orchard (a part of Roba’s Family Farms) also has a vast array of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Along with the sunflower and zinnia festival, there is also apple picking, an antique carousel, the cow train express, a pumpkin bounce, a giant corn box to play in, various yard games, toy duck races, a goat corral, a hippity hop bounce corral, the cider garden, and for the “young at heart” there is also hard cider available. There’s also food and drinks at the orchard cafe with the cider slushee’s being a big hit with everyone! I believe in later fall there are also fire pits available to enjoy as well. There is a small admission fee, but if you purchase the tickets ahead of time online, they are cheaper. Along with the admission fee, you are able to cut one flower a piece for free. You can cut more flowers if you wish for an additional cost. To check out more about the farm, click here.

With the stunning weather, Ava and I dressed in our floral dresses for the fun flower filled day. I love slowly transitioning to darker florals as the seasons progress. This particular dress has a beautiful dark green background with golden cascading leaves and pretty pink flowers. The perfect dress to compliment fall. The dress fits true to size. I’m wearing an XS.

Check out below for some family photos from the orchard!

Summer Dreaming

Two Piece Set c/o || Similar Sandals || Wicker Basket Bag || Moon & Star Necklaces || Similar Seashell Earrings || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o || Rainbow Circle Ring ||

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! Last night, Ava, my dad and I, all had an absolutely marvelous time getting to experience one of my favorite television shows on the big screen! Five newly colorized episodes of I Love Lucy, plus a documentary on the colorization process, were shown for fans of all ages to enjoy the show like never before. We even received some Lucy posters from Cinemark to celebrate the one night event. What a treat it was to watch Lucy with fans who truly love the show and to be able to hear Ava laugh out loud at her crazy antics! It’s a night I will never forget.

This two piece button front set has a romantic carefree feeling to it similar to how I think of the long golden days of summer. Though I typically do not wear too many cropped pieces, this top paired with the high waisted skirt show just the right amount of skin. It’s a playful and flirty outfit that’s perfect for the hot and humid days. I also love a two piece set since you can mix and match the items with different pieces already in your wardrobe. Both pieces fit true to size. I’m wearing an XS.

The dress fits true to size and comes with a removable sash to cinch in your waist.

Summer Blues In The City

Knot Striped Shirt c/o || Mid rise White Denim Shorts || Sunglasses || Similar Basket Bag || Necklace || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o || Tassel Earrings || Kate Spade Keds (Old, Similar) ||

Good morning, friends! I wore this look while Ava and I went to go see the new Sprider-Man: Far From Home movie yesterday. It was really good! Ava and I are big fans of all of the superhero movies with Spider-Man having a special place in both of our hearts.

While I tend to dress up a great deal of the time, I also love good casual basics, with this look being ideal for a fun summer night out! A blue and white color combo is quintessential for summertime and one of my favorites. The button down top has a collar, cute pocket patch in the front, and a tie knot at the hem. The fabric is so comfy and not see through at all. It fits true to size.

I also finished up the new season of Stranger Things and wow, Hopper’s speech at the end! Ugh, I could not stop crying. Everyone else I talked to that has finished up season three was the same way. Who is the “American” at the end though?! I have my theories, haha, and cannot wait for season 4 next year!

Wishing my mom a very happy birthday in heaven today too! She would have been 62. I know she is looking down on all of us, especially Ava, smiling so big at getting to watch her grow. I see so much of my mom in Ava too, it’s truly amazing. Her legacy of love, kindness, and never ending strength live on in my family and I am forever grateful to have had her as my role model and mom.

One of my favorite photos of her at Rusty Rudder. She was so cool! If you look, all of us are actually in this photo too. My brother and dad are reflected in her sunglasses and I’m off to the left side lol.

Tropic Thunder

Palm Print Dress c/o || Ava’s Palm Print Dress c/o || White Bow Hat || Ava’s White Bow Hat || Pink Bow Sandals || Straw Tote Bag || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o || Turquoise Earrings ||

Good morning! Today’s feature is another Mommy and me ensemble in tropic palm leaf print dresses. They’re so cute and fun for a casual summer day. I found both my dress and Ava’s to fit true to size. My dress has some padding for a built in bra (though I still wore a bra with mine) and a cute criss cross open back design, which is very eye catching! Ava’s dress has the same palm leaf pattern, but with adorable ruffles along the chest and shoulders. We had a blast playing in the sand, running, kicking the ball around, and having a little picnic on my beach blanket. Afterwards we took a slow walk to enjoy the evening. It’s these little moments that are always special and end up creating a memorable day.

By The Sea, By The Sea, By The Beautiful Sea

Polka Dot Swimsuit c/o || Ava’s polka dot swimsuit c/o || White Bow Straw Hat || Ava’s White Bow Straw Hat || Sunglasses || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o || Woven Mules ||

These are by far the cutest swimsuits Ava and I have! I adore anything that’s mommy and me matching, especially when they have a fun retro feel to them. These red polka dot swimsuits are the hit of the summer season, not to mention eye catching and darling with their sweet ruffles along the top. I found the sizing to be true to size for the toddler version. The adult version runs small. I would recommend sizing up one size for a comfortable fit.

These photos were taken out first day on vacation at the Cape. The weather was amazing and the beaches were practically untouched with an abundance of seashells laying on top of the sand. Ava had a field day collecting all of her seashell treasures and then arranging them on my towel!

Happy Tuesday, friends! What a busy past couple of days Ava and I have had. To top it all off, tonight the Avengers are going to be at our local McDonalds! Ava’s pretty excited to meet them.

When we’re super busy, I love to just throw on a dress and go. It’s a simple way to look chic andput together when time is of the essence. Another go-to solution are accessories in natural fabrics like straw, wicker, or rattan. Not only do they give some texture to an outfit, they go with everything, and feel effortless. You’ll be hard pressed to find me without them during the spring and summer months. I’ve been living in these woven mules, which are so comfortable to wear. They fit true to size and go with everything I put on. They’re going to be my go-to shoe for summer. This little floral dress has slightly puffed sleeves and a peplum hem. It’s perfect for a night out or when matched with natural fabrics like I did, it has a dressed down feeling for the day.

Under The Blossoms

Floral Tea Dress c/o || Similar Pearl Headband || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o || Sandals || Similar Wicker Bag || Circle Hexagon Ring c/o || Ava’s Glitter Circle Bag || Ava’s Dress ||

Happy weekend, friends! Ava and I went to go see Avengers End Game yesterday and man, what an amazing way to end the series! Both of us loved the movie that clocks in at just over three hours. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat, and I wholeheartedly enjoyed the entire journey I’ve been on with these characters over the past eleven years. What a journey it’s been too. The entire theater clapped at the end, which I always love. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but definitely go see it, especially all of the fans.

This yellow tea dress was a dream to shoot under the weeping cherry blossom tree. With a bowtie at the neck, ruffles, and a floral print, this dress fit right in with romantic charm the trees have. Ava particularly enjoyed playing under them! We both wanted to wear yellow florals too. This is the cutest little number to throw on for a day out or even for a date night. Gingham & Bows

Pink Gingham Bow Top c/o || Similar Pleated Skirt || Pink Bow Sandals || Pink Bow Hat || Vanity Box Bag || Earrings || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o || Circle Hexagon Ring c/o ||

What is it about a bow that simply makes my heart go aflutter? It’s one of those little details that makes a big impact and adds a feminine touch with a hint of whimsy. This darling pink gingham top with bows along the cuffs combines the best of both worlds with its fun spring/summertime print and of course, the beautiful bows. Not only does the top have bows, but my sandals and hat also have bows too! While putting this look together, I envisioned a spring time walk in the park or a picnic under a blossoming tree.

Leopard Blouse

Leopard Top c/o || Skinny Jeans || Blush & Glitter Loafers || Sunglasses || Rebecca Minkoff Bag || Earrings || Circle Hexagon Ring c/o ||

Hello friends! Leopard has been one of my long time favorite prints as far back as I can remember. Even Ava is quite a fan of the print and likes to point it out every time we see it. This lightweight blouse combines two details I adore. A bow tie at the neck and of course the leopard print. The top feels so comfortable with a looser fit. It looks best when tucked into either a pair of jeans or a skirt. I particularly enjoy pairing leopard with colors of the season. It really does act as a neutral!

Transition Into Spring

Sail To Sable Coat c/o || Gingham Dress c/o || Wedge Espadrilles || Straw Hat || Straw Bag c/o ||

Happy Friday, friends! White tweed, big gold buttons, and a knee length cut make this coat from Sail To Sable elegant in every single way. It’s been my go-to this season for the transition into warmer spring weather. I’m completely over winter and also strongly hoping we do not get any more snow storms. Fingers crossed! I’ve been starting to store away my winter outterwear and looking for a coat for the cooler spring days. This tweed one has a fresh feel with a light lining to keep me warm until we hit those 70 degree days. It also features a stand up collar and a fit and flare silhouette. I paired the coat with a fun gingham dress and yellow wedge espadrilles

Good morning and happy Tuesday! With spring right on the horizon, I swear I could even smell it in the air yesterday, I have all of my floral pieces pulled out and ready to go. There’s nothing more refreshing after a long winter than beautiful blossoms coming to life spreading their beauty and delectable fragrance in the warm air. Not only does this top remind me of all that spring has to offer, it’s also in the most lovely shade of pastel blue, which seems to be everywhere I look this season. From tops to bags, shoes, skirts, scarves, and even pjs, pastel blue is a color perfectly capturing the tranquility of spring. The straw hat adds the perfect amount of vintage flare and I must say, I absolutely adore it!

Silver Screen Glam

Silver Dress c/o || Similar Red Heels || Similar Clutch || Similar Pearl Hair Comb || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Mine was filled with antiquing, getting some fresh air, catching up on some work, attending a church dinner, and also starting Schitt’s Creek on Netflix. A few people have recommended the show to me and let me tell you, it is hilarious! I’m not kidding. I could not stop watching it. It’s definitely binge worthy and will have you laughing the entire way through.

My fashion roots, heart, and soul have always been with vintage inspired looks. While the 1950s have always been my favorite time period, I also have quite a soft spot for the 1940s and 1960s too. This particular look nods to the 40s with its silky silver fabric, A-line skirt, knee length cut, soft waves, and of course a red lip with some pearl accents. Actresses like Lana Turner, Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, Veronica Lake, and Gene Tierney come to mind. I also must give credit where credit is due. Ava is the one who chose the red shoes for this outfit. She actually helps me pick out some accessories for quite a bit of my looks! We had just watched The Wizard Of Oz the night before so Dorothy’s ruby red slippers were front and center on both of our minds.

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I cannot help but to think of the Pink Ladies from Grease whenever I see a pink and black color combination. This top, with its adorable ruffles, was the inspiration for this outfit and definitely has some retro vibes. The material is formfitting and looks better tucked into either pants or a skirt.

Did anyone else happen to watch The Bachelor this last Monday? I honestly have never watched the show, but started to this season. It’s quite entertaining lol. The infamous fence jumping scene finally happened on Monday and everyone went wild! I don’t blame Colton one bit after what happened with Cassie though. Ugh, that was heart breaking to watch.

Winter Meets Spring

Floral Embroidered Dress c/o || Similar Clutch (Here) And (Here)  || Similar Sequin Shoes ||

Hello and happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Did anyone happen to watch the Oscars last night? Ava and i watched the ceremony and loved all of the musical performances. The opener with Queen and Adam Lambert was amazing! Now that’s how you open a show! Lady Gaga’s and Bradley Coopers performance was incredibly emotional and filled to the brim with electric chemistry. A well deserved double standing ovation! My favorite speech was by Olivia Colman for best actress. My goodness, she was beyond adorable! I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. Also, Chris Evans being a real life Captain America in helping Regina King up the stairs, swoon, proof that chivalry is not dead. What a gentleman!

This time of the year is tough to dress for. Spring everything is hitting the shelves, yet it’s still chilly out with threats of winter weather everywhere. Enter dark floral dresses. Bonus points for ones with a longer skirt! The florals and pink skirt in this one feel like spring, while the dark mesh anchors the look to the winter season. I love the romance of this dress is and how elegant I felt while wearing it. As it gets closer to spring, simply swap out the heels for some strappy sandals and you have a beautiful spring ensemble!
