A Fall Floral Dream

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! One item on my bucket list has always been to visit a flower farm and over this past weekend, it finally became a reality! What dreamy day it was too. The weather was absolutely perfect for taking in all of natures splendor. The views were breathtaking and gave an overall sense of calm when gazing out upon the colorful land. Needless to say, Ava and I had an absolute blast. She loved seeing all of the sunflowers, zinnia’s, and especially running through the vast fields. Not only are there flower fields, but the Lakeland Orchard (a part of Roba’s Family Farms) also has a vast array of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Along with the sunflower and zinnia festival, there is also apple picking, an antique carousel, the cow train express, a pumpkin bounce, a giant corn box to play in, various yard games, toy duck races, a goat corral, a hippity hop bounce corral, the cider garden, and for the “young at heart” there is also hard cider available. There’s also food and drinks at the orchard cafe with the cider slushee’s being a big hit with everyone! I believe in later fall there are also fire pits available to enjoy as well. There is a small admission fee, but if you purchase the tickets ahead of time online, they are cheaper. Along with the admission fee, you are able to cut one flower a piece for free. You can cut more flowers if you wish for an additional cost. To check out more about the farm, click here.

With the stunning weather, Ava and I dressed in our floral dresses for the fun flower filled day. I love slowly transitioning to darker florals as the seasons progress. This particular dress has a beautiful dark green background with golden cascading leaves and pretty pink flowers. The perfect dress to compliment fall. The dress fits true to size. I’m wearing an XS.

Check out below for some family photos from the orchard!

One of my most favorite memories from my childhood is dressing up with my mom in our matching sunflower dresses whenever we traveled to the beach. I can remember it so vividly, even the matching sunflower hair ties we had for the dresses. They’re memories I cherish along with the dresses I still have, both my mom’s and mine. Last year, Ava and I tried on the dresses to see how they fit. It was a very emotional and special moment for me. I can’t wait for both of us to slip into them again!

Knowing the sentimentality behind a sunflower print, these dresses Ava and I wore above brought back memories of my mom and I from years past. My sunflower dress is an absolute favorite I’ve had for a few years now. When I saw Ava’s dress from Pat Pat, I knew it was a clear winner. The bright sunflower pattern along with the ruffle sleeves make for a darling summertime combo!

Sunny Sunflower

Good morning and happy Thursday, friends! When I originally saw this dress my eyes bugged out at the beautiful bright yellow sunflower print against the dark navy background. Yellow and navy make for such an eye popping color combination! Not only did the print catch my eye, but the vintage feel and bow-tie waist are just too gorgeous to pass up. I went with matching colors with my navy peacoat and mustard top handle bag. Adding some gold sparkly heels gave the look an extra special feel!

The Sunflower Dress

Each year when I go to Cape Cod I like to take one special dress that stands out from all of the rest. Last year it was my rose print dress from Chicwish. It was such a dream to wear and still stands out in my mind as one of my favorite dresses. This year is no different with my sunflower waterfall dress, also from Chicwish. I always turn to them when I need a knockout piece! This was probably my favorite day on the cape. We started our at the Truro Winery where we relaxed on their front lawn and had some lunch. The weather was AMAZING. I could sit there all day long. Next, we headed to Eastham to see the famous Nauset lighthouse that is featured on the Cape Cod chips bag. It is my favorite lighthouse and one that we always get a family photo in front of. Later in the day I took Ava down to Veteran's Beach where the JFK Memorial is. It's my favorite spot in Hyannis. The sunset there is the prettiest. The Yacht Club is there also, which is why Ava and I are pointing in the one photo. She loves to see the sail boats!
