Falling For Nautical

Nautical Dress c/o || Red Scallop Bag || Sunglasses || Red Bow Flats || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o ||

Happy Monday, friends! No matter the season, my love for all things nautical never diminishes. With Autumn right around the corner, this classic navy dress from Chicwish has all the right elements to keep you nautically chic from head to toe. The knit fabric is perfect for that in-between weather with cool crisp mornings and warm sunny afternoons. The pleated skirt is simply darling and allows for the swish movement I swoon over. The gold buttons and white self-tie bowknot on the neck add to the nautical charm. The sizing runs true to size. I’m wearing a size small and found it to be very comfortable. This is one of those dresses that will be a staple piece for years to come. Classic pieces are classic for a reason. They never go out of style and can move through each decade without losing their sophistication. It’s also fantastic to wear for work or out with friends. Truly a versatile piece.

Mint & Sailor

Mint Sailor Dress (On Sale!!) || White Disc Hat || Sunglasses || Wicker Bag || Yellow Wedge Espadrilles || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning, friends! What a dreamy evening it was to take a stroll along the harbor and Main Street. With the golden sun slowly setting, the sweet fragrance of lilacs in the air, and the warm breeze softly rustling, it truly felt like paradise. Gazing upon the harbor with its endless boats and ships is one of my favorite pastimes that I do quite frequently while visiting the Cape. This mint swing dress with mid-century mariner art upon it was the perfect ensemble to wear for the evening stroll. It’s on major sale right now too! Featuring an array of adorable sailor motifs, white buttons to secure the darted bodice, a white lapel collar that flares out to the cap sleeves, a button belt to cinch in your fabulous hour glass figure, and front pockets to carry your favorite necessities in. The dress runs true to size. Along this walk we also stopped to get our yearly photo with JFK’s statue at the Hyannis museum. Ava always gets so excited to see him, running right up to him to say hello.

Needing Nautical

Yellow Jacket || Striped Top || White Skinny Jeans || Red Scalloped Bag || Sunglasses || Similar Scarf || Navy Flats ||

Happy Wednesday, friends! As winter carries on, my mind has been drifting to all things warm weather related, including my love for nautical pieces. Truth be told, I wear nautical ensembles year round, regardless of the season. A favorite in summer, I like to keep the seafarer vibe going strong whenever and wherever I can. I decorated my home with a strong nautical New England influence.

The inspiration for this look started with the yellow parka jacket, perfect for layering in the spring and summer. It has a decent weight to it, which I was actually surprised with. The striped top and white jeans will always be a forever classic pairing, along with the navy flats adorned with gold buttons. They’re on sale now too! Ava was particularly taken with the scalloped bag in a bright shade of red. She wanted to carry it the whole time and often does when we’re at home. Completing the look, I tied a sailboat scarf around my neck that I got up at the Cape a few years back.

Classically Nautical

Sail To Sable Dress c/o || Ava’s Dress || Sunglasses || Wicker Bag || Jack Rogers Sandals || Vineyard Vines Hat (Old, Similar) || Jackie Kennedy Earrings || Pearl And Anchor Bracelet ||

Good morning, friends! This dress could not have been more perfect for being on the Cape.  The flutter sleeves give the dress just the right amount of flair while keeping the look classic, elegant, and fun! I love how comfortable the dress is too. This was another look that I matched with Ava, though we didn’t get too many photos together other than our macaron snap and our yearly family photo in front of the Nausset Lighthouse, which is the lighthouse on the Cape Cod chips bag! This is one of those dresses I love to keep in rotation all summer long. It’s so easy to throw on with some sandals and go.

What a gorgeous day we had! We started at one of our favorite antique stores and then headed to Cake and Islands Dessert Shoppe. They’re known for their sea glass candy, but also their macaron cookies. They were amazingly good! We ate all of them on the beach, haha. Next we stopped at the National Seashore Park office in Eashtham, which is also where the Nausset Lighthouse is. Fun fact, on August 7, 1961 President Kennedy signed a bill establishing the Cape Cod National Seashore to preserve the Great Beach and prevent large scale development from occurring at other places along the Eastern seaboard. It includes 43,607 acres and nearly 40 miles of seashore along the Atlantic coast. After visiting the park office, we went to the beach where Ava played with a sand turtle toy she got at the park store and then eventually to the lighthouse to get some photos. Ava thought someone lived inside the lighthouse and kept knocking on the door. She is adorable to watch! To end the day, we stopped in Chatham, my second favorite town on the Cape. It is beyond charming. We stopped for dinner at the Chatham Raw Bar to try out their oysters after hearing so many good reviews. Trust me, they were the best oysters I ever had! I’m kicking myself for not getting a photo of them, but I literally inhaled them as soon as they got to the table.

Anchors Aweigh

Pearl Skirt c/o || Red Striped Top || Similar Seer Sucker Blazer (Old, Banana Republic) || Similar White Sandals || Sunglasses || Wicker Bag || DW Rose Gold Watch c/o ||

Good morning and welcome to the new week! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We had a great one celebrating my future sister-in-laws birthday this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun! We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then did some shopping together. My brother was a good sport during the shopping too, haha.

Oh how I love a good nautical look! I basically have two fashion styles that I stick pretty close to. One being romantic whimsy and the other nautical. This look started with the pearl beaded flounce skirt and was built around that. The detailing is unequivocally feminine and very lady like. The pearls are so darling! I’m wearing a size small for reference. This seersucker blazer from Banana Republic has been a staple item in my closet for years. I pull it out every spring and summer and never tire of it. It’s a classic piece stands the test of time. This pink and blush versions are a fun twist on the traditional blue. I found a similar one to mine here that is sure to be a go-to for anything from dressing up a simple white tee and jeans to creating your own nautical chic ensemble!

Good morning and happy Thursday!  While it may not technically be spring yet, I jump at any chance I have to throw on some spring pieces with the little warm ups we’ve been having. This navy linen dress from Julie Brown NYC features a lace up neckline and the ever popular bell sleeves with a little bit of ruffle to them. I immediately thought of  an ocean or lake getaway when I saw this dress. Oh what I wouldn’t give for a warm weather trip right now! I also envisioned pairing it with accessories for a nautical themed ensemble. I cannot wait to start wearing all of my straw and wicker bags again too. They’re my absolute go-to for spring and summer. This company makes some of the best and ones that I carried non-stop last year.

Nautical In Winter

Peplum Jacket c/o || Distressed Skinny Jeans c/o || Red, White, and Blue Sweater c/o || Circle Bag || Sunglasses || Camel Sneakers || Jackie Kennedy Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Stella & Dot Brier Ring || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring ||

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We had some warm weather and it was glorious! We were able to get out to the local park and take a walk. Talk about cabin fever, haha. It felt wonderful.

Speaking of warmer weather, one of my all time favorite styles to wear is nautical. While typically thought of more so in the summer, I love wearing anything nautical inspired all year round. This particular winter look has an all American nautical vibe with beautiful little details like the ruffle hem in the quilted jacket. These skinny jeans (only $18!) are petite friendly and fit like a dream. I always have trouble finding jeans that fit in either the waist or length, but these fit in both. My favorite part of this outfit is the sweater. It is a classic piece that will never go out of style (hello stripes and the most classic color combo ever) and one that can be worn a variety of ways. Not only that, but it’s beyond comfy and only $16!
