Good morning, friends! Today I’m excited to talk about a new transformative night gel-cream from Dermalogica called Sound Sleep Cocoon. I’ve been using mine for about one month and feel confident to talk about the results I’ve seen. I always put the Sound Sleep Cocoon on as my last step for the night followed by spritzing a lavender-vanilla most on my pillows to help me sleep. 

Now, let’s talk a little bit about skin in genreal. It’s actually nocturnal! It regenerates and repairs itself at night while you sleep. The maximum nighttime skin repairs occurs between 9pm until midnight. In our busy world, not all of us get enough sleep though, yours truly included. For all of the nights when you don’t get enough rest, the Sound Sleep Cocoon is here to help by promoting skin repair so you can wake up with glowing skin by morning. My skin definitely looks refreshed and feels very soft by morning. 

The key ingredients in the gel-cream are Persian silk tree extract, which provides antioxidant protection, reduces the signs of fatigue and brightens tired skin. The next ingredient is quite-shy-ya fruit extract. This promotes a refined, even skin texture and illuminates dull skin, visibly increasing radiance by morning. Lastly, the motion-activated lavender oil is released throughout the night as you toss and turn helping you Sleep even in restless nights. The lavender is so soothing to the senses. I love putting this gel-cream on and immediately smelling the soothing scent. It’s not overwhelming, but pleasently in the background.

Get Your Glow On

Happy Monday, friends! I was recently introduced to a skincare brand I had heard so much about and definitely wanted to give a try. For those of you that do not know, I’ve struggled with acne my entire adult life. Having to deal with this has led me to become very passionate about my skin care routine. It’s very exciting to find a company with products that deliver on their promise and are just as passionate about skin care as I am. After trying these products for about one month, I am truly impressed with each one. My favorite of the four were the daily microfoliant and the phyto replenish oil, which I’ve incorporated into my daily routine. 

The Precleanse is an oil that gently removes everything from waterproof mascara to chewing gum in hair! It removes excess oil without clogging pores. It was very relaxing to massage this oil over my dry face for a minute or two and then add water to emulsify. After using a cleanser, I would the  use the Daily Microfoliant, which I love. My face always does better when I exfoliate it everyday. Many exfoliants are only to be used two to three times a week so it’s definitely a plus that this one is for daily use. It’s a powder that you activate by adding water in your hands to create a creamy paste. It gently smoothed away dulling skin cells for instantly brighter skin! I would end my nightly routine with the Phyto Replensih Oil, a true all star of the group. I use 5-6 drops and then gently press onto my skin. This oil strengthens the skin’s natural barrier to create a luminous antioxidant shield against free-radical damage. The Hydrablur Primer locks in hydration and provides a light, neutral coverage that can be worn alone or under makeup. This primer blues the appearance of fine line and mattifines shine. I honestly am horrible with primers, haha. I forget to put them on in the morning before my foundation, but when I would remember to wear the primer, it did smooth everything out and I didn’t have to use as much foundation as normal. A win in my book!

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today I’m bringing you all of the goodies from the February edition of Glossybox’s monthly beauty box. Happy Friday, friends! One of my favorite places to find a good bargain is at TJMaxx. This post is NOT sponsored or anything, but rather just some great finds I found on a recent visit there. Note, everything in this post is from the actual brick and mortar store and not listed on their online website. It’s deifntely worth a trip to your local store to see if any of the items are available there! They always have hidden gems at amazing prices so be on the lookout. I actually used to work there back in college and would see first hand how new stock comes in everyday. One of my favorite finds was the blush circle bag by Madison West. It looks EXACTLY like the Mansur Gavriel Bag, but for only $30. The Kate Spade hat was another great find and it was on sale! Perfect for the upcoming spring and summer. I initially went in to find some jewelry cases since I’ve found some beautiful glass ones at TJMaxx and Marshall’s before. Upon seeing the triple trays from Richard’s, I decided to go with those instead and LOVE them. They look so chic and allow all of my jewelry to be seen. I hate when my jewelry is tucked away in boxes or drawers. You cannot see what you have then! How adorable is the blouse from Love Notes?! It has an eyelash, lip, and heart print on it. Plus the blue stripes are a classic print that will never go out of style. The leopard bag from Dune London looks way more expensive than it is with a top handle, gold detailing, and pops of red along the sides.

Good morning, friends and happy Tuesday! The holiday season is in full swing and with that comes holiday makeup! My obvious favorite color to wear for any holiday party is red, but we all know how hard it is to maintain with the worrisome smudging or rubbing off. I was recently introduced to LipSense by a friend of mine and was completely impressed with it! No smudging or rubbing off. It’s kiss proof too! I tested the lipstick out for a few weeks and can honestly say it works wonders. It comes in a set with the lipstick color, a top gloss, and a remover for any mistakes made during the application. Below is a step by step guide on how to apply the product and a discount code for my followers! 

  •  Thoroughly clean and dry your lips
  • Shake your LipSense  
  • Start on the bottom lip and apply from corner-to-corner in one swipe on the outer lip. Then repeat on he inner lip.  
  • Apply from corner-to-corner on the top lip in one swipe. Then repeat on the top inner lip.  
  • Once you have applied your first coat, let it dry. This should only take a couple seconds. Try not to touch your lips together. Your lips will feel sticky.  
  • Repeat steps 3-5 two more times for a total of 3 layers of color. Be sure to let dry between layers.  
  • Once the color is dry, you’ll apply your gloss and even out by gently rubbing your lips together. 
  • Apply gloss as needed throughout the day

This may seem like many steps, but once you practice a few times you’ll get the hang of it. I can do mine in about 1-2 minutes and it’s totally worth it! LipSense does have to be purchased through an independent distributor (kind of like Avon.) I get mine from Maddie. She is great and totally helped me the whole way!

Hello dear friends and happy Monday! I hope everyone truly had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their family and friends. Mine was very relaxing spent with loved ones. We ended up having some nice weather too so everyone made sure to spend some time outdoors. Ava and I also decorated our home for Christmas! She loves all of the twinkle lights.

Auto Steam Curler

Irresistible Me Auto Steam Roller c/o || 

Good morning, everyone! My favorite hair style to wear is curled, but I don't always have a ton of time to curl my hair everyday. When I saw this auto curler, I thought, yes! something that can save me time and get the job done. Basically, you need to really brush your hair out so its smooth and without any knots. After taking a one inch section of hair and pulling straight down on it, you place the hair into the roller, shut it, and let the roller curl your hair. It'll beep when the curl is finished. I do mine on the 12 second setting since my hair is thicker and never holds a curl very well. There was a bit of a learning curve for me with this. It definitely took me a few tries to get it just right. I used the auto curler on the left side of my hair in the photos above so you can see the difference. I found my hair looked more beachy waves than the curls I'm used to with my curling wand. I did like how there is a setting that will allow the curler to automatically switch the direction of the curl each time you use it for a more natural look.

T3 Volumizing Hot Rollers LUXE

Hello all and happy Wednesday! If you're like me, then time is of the essence and something I seem to never have enough of! I try to make my morning routine as quick and efficient as possible so I can get my day started with little Ava. When I was in college, I used hot rollers every day. I loved the big bouncy curls they created and how I could keep them in while I was getting other things done like my makeup, brushing my teeth, and so on. I always felt they saved me time while doing my hair. Typically, I don't do very much to my hair so whenever I want a polished look, it has to be with a tool that will be quick and easy.

April 2017 Glossybox

Happy Friday, everyone! Another month means another beauty box from Glossybox, a monthly subscription box filled with beauty goodies to delight. Each product in this months box is literally so good. I've used them all and so far I am pleasantly surprised by their results! My favorites are the the matte lip colors from Colourpop Cosmetics. I'm wearing the shade Tuesday in the above photos and love how creamy smooth it is with a highly pigmented color that is 100% kiss proof! Below is a list of what you'll find in April's box.

  1. Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara: This mascara will intensify your lashes with both volume and length. Yes, please! The brush is big and fluffy, which glides though lashes evenly, coating them with a velvet carbon black formula.
  2. Vasanti Cosmetics Birghten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator: This triple acting formula brightens and breaks down dead skin with papaya enzyme, exfoliates with micro-crystals to help smooth your skin's surface, and cleanses with an aloe-enriched cream gel. As I get older, I definitely notice my skin becoming dull and need formulas like this one to keep my skin looking fresh. I read that if you are in your 20s, you should exfoliate twice a week. If you are in your 30s, then you should exfoliate three times a week.
  3. Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip: As I said above, this was my favorite product from the box. The colors are highly pigmented, 100% kiss proof, and have a creamy texture with a matte finish. It glides on smooth and leaves a bold look. Love!
  4. Beauty Shampoo And Conditioner: The Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner work with all hair types and is safe for everyday use and for color-treated hair. I noticed immediately how soft and smooth my hair was after using these, plus they smell great!
  5. Vince Camuto Ciao Eau De Parfum: Ciao celebrates the spontaneity and energy of the modern woman's lifestyle. With notes including Italian Mandarin, rose, jasmine, Indonesian Patchouli, and Glowing Amber, that is sure to become your new favorite!
  6. Aromafloria For Feet's Sake Intense Repair Spa Foot Butter: I put this on after I got out of the shower and then went to bed. The next day my feet were so soft! A must for sandal season. This combines shea butter, vitamin E, tea tree and mint, leaving skin moisturized and feeling fresh.

I hope everyone has a beautiful and lovely Easter weekend spent with family, loved ones, and friends! I can't wait for little Ava to find her Easter basket from the bunny. I'm so excited to watch her explore for it this year.

You may have noticed in a few recent posts that my hair was straight. I always wear it wavy or curl it, but wanted to try something different instead of my go-to looks. T3 is a company that I've heard quite a good deal about. I can't help but love the white and rose gold detailing too! Their SinglePass Luxe features their digital SinglePass technology delivering consistent heat without over exposure. This ingenious tool will style your hair in one effortless pass. The ceramic plates create long lasting results. You can create waves, flips, add volume, straighten,  and even curl. This tool really is too good to be true!

I like to air dry my hair, which helps create my natural waves, but also because I feel it keeps my hair healthier. Once my hair was mostly dry, I used the Featherweight Light Hair Dryer. After that, I used the SinglePass Luxe to straighten my hair into a silky finish. I added little flips at the ends of my face framing layers. That's about it! It's a super easy style created with luxurious tools that are versatile and leading in technology.

Fab Fit Fun Spring 2017

It's that time of the year again for another Fab Fit Fun box. I've mentioned this many times before, but this is without a doubt my favorite lifestyle subscription box. One year ago I started receiving them and haven't looked back since then. I'm always impressed each time I receive a box and think they keep getting better and better each time. Each season you get a new box filled with goodies perfect for that time of the year. This one is chalk full of springtime favorites! Here's what is included:

  • Gyypsy Roundie: These blankets are fantastic if you're headed to a picnic, going to the beach, or even a concert. They would even make for some cool wall art of a nice photo backdrop! Mine is the blue tie-dye.
  • Milly Zip Pouch (Mine says Beach Please): These zip pouches are super cute, especially if you need something to carry your wet bathing suit in or to keep your valuables safe in this water resistant bag. You can even use it to stash your beauty products in.
  • Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioner: I used this the night before I took these photos. Ritual Of Sakaura // Glossybox

Happy Friday, friends! In all honestly, there are tons of products that I test out for the blog and then tell you about them. Some make it into my everyday routine, but most do not. Being the beauty junkie that I am though, it's incredibly fun to try out new products and see how they work. I took the photos for this limited edition Ritual of Sakura Glossy Box last night so the lighting is horrible, haha, but some unexpected things came up during the day. After the photo set, I got this post put together, then took a shower to test the products, and now I'm writing this. I'm actually really excited to talk about these because I was so impressed with them! This box is available for a limited time with subscribers paying $25 and non-subscriber paying $30. FYI, everything smells AMAZING! I would add every single one of these to my daily routine. They are that good.

  • Ritual Of Sakura Showering Oil: This was one of my favorite products from the group. It smells amazing! Cherry Blossom has always been a favorite scent of mine. The oil comes out as a golden color and then turns into foam once its rubbed in. My skin literally felt like silk. It also has purifying properties of rice milk.
  • Ritual Of Sakura Body Cream: After my shower, I put this body cream on. It has a whipped texture and also smells amazing. Every one of the products smells soooo yummy! This has antioxidant-rich ingredients including vitamin E and Centella Asiatica.
  • Ritual Of Sakura Shower Scrub: This scrub is absolute perfection. It isn't too gritty or coarse, but feels really nice and gentle to rub in and remove dead skin cells. My skin felt so smooth and soft afterwards.
  • Gingko's Secret Hand Balm: This hand balm also smells like cherry blossom with purifying properties of rice milk. Its an oil that turns into a silky foam when it comes into contact with water, leaving skin soft and hydrated. My hands really take a beating in the winter and this is exactly what I need to whip them back into shape! I cannot get over the beautiful scent too.
  • Ritual Of Sakura Bed And Body: This beautiful fragrance will put a smile on your face and in your heart. You can apply this fragrance to your body, bed sheets, around the home, or even in your washing machine to give your clothes the floral aroma of cherry blossoms. I'm addicted to this scent! it also contains moisturizing ingredients and comes in a pretty glass container.
