Happy Friday lovelies! I think everyone can agree that a plaid shirt is essential for your fall wardrobe. Am I right?! I love how this one mixes in the chambray detail making it unique and classic. You could wear it casual like I did with jeans and booties or with a circle skirt for a little extra glam look. This was the perfect casual comfy outfit for the second day of our trip in the Finger Lakes. I wanted something easy, casual, and classic. We were also traveling back home so I needed my outfit to be comfy. As I mentioned before here, Justin and I love to drive around and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We always stop at Gimme Coffee in Trumansburg to fuel up. I've always adored their latte's in particular. We stopped off at the Allan H Treman State Marine Park for our picnic before we left. It was an amazingly gorgeous day to sit and gaze out at the harbor with the pretty sail boats passing by. Definitely a spot I would recommend if you ever have the chance.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

One of our favorite places to visit is the Finger Lakes in New York. Justin and I had our "mini moon" there right after our wedding in 2011. Our big honeymoon was Disney the following year. What we personally love is to drive around while sipping on our coffee or tea and enjoy the beautiful scenery all around us. Bully Hill near Keuka Lake is our favorite winery hands down. It carries the Ravat 51, pictured above, which has a very sweet pineapple taste. If you can, definitely try this out! The other detail photos of the apples, corn, and flowers were also taken around the Bully Hill winery. They have amazing landscaping. The photo of Justin, Ava and I was taken down by Keuka Lake on the little park where we had a picnic. We'll bring our own food and a portable grill to have picnics next to the lakes whenever we get hungry. It's a fantastic way to enjoy being outside. This year was a quick over night trip with the first day simply being to drive around, stop at Bully Hill, and have picnics along the lakes. It's so relaxing since there is hardly any traffic on the back roads and you can drive for miles and miles at your own pace.

I knew our first day there was going to be on the cooler side so I pulled out this striped sweater, which is light weight and super soft, to layer under the cape. I wanted something relaxed and easy for the drive and any walking or picnicking we would be doing. The cape added just the right amount of warmth for a fall day without over heating. I never had to take it off and I love how versatile it is! Riding boots are essential for me when it comes to fall and winter styles. I practically live in them. This LC pair has gotten so much use and has a fantastic quality for being under $70.

Has anyone ever been to the Finger Lakes? If you are traveling there and have any questions please let me know! Stay tuned for our second day there.

Happy Friday all! I wore this damask print dress out on the town during one of the beautiful days we had in Rehoboth Beach. I love the bold black and white print with a pop of red and some cute bow pumps. I actually bought this dress right before I found out I was pregnant. Then I got incredibly sick and never had a chance to wear it until now. The dress is perfect for a night out or can be dressed down for day with a cardi and flats. Anyway, we eventually walked down to Silver Lake during the sunset. It's one of my favorite walks while in town; the other being a walk to Gerar Lake. It's so peaceful and charming with the pretty houses, beautiful lakes, and of course that wonderfully soothing thing called the ocean. I hope everyone has a great weekend! If you live on the east coast like me please be safe with the hurricane coming through.

One thing I love to do in the summer is cruise around the lake near our house with the windows down, breeze in my hair, and sunshine kissing my face. There's nothing quite like it and the relaxation puts me in the best mood. Justin and I make a habit of doing this a few times a week where we can catch up with what's been going on or simply sit back and just enjoy the scenery. For our most recent drive I wore a nautical outfit (I seem to be constantly in anything nautical once summer hits!) with this beautiful princess necklace from Rox N Bunny. The outfit reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear. I also love how this could totally be a transition outfit into the cooler months of fall as well. It was quite breezy out so the blazer was a must (and would be perfect for fall) or you could rock this outfit without the blazer in the warm summer sun. Enjoy your Tuesday everyone!

I took a much needed break yesterday since I've been battling this cold, which took a slight turn for the worse, and could not be happier that I did. Nothing like a little rest to help heal the body. This is a bitter sweet post since it is my last California outfit, but oh what a fun day we had at the San Diego zoo! I wanted something that was comfortable since I knew we would be walking around the whole day. I picked up these espadrilles at a Target in San Diego, that has two floors!, and absolutely fell in love with the tropical print and comfort of them! You will not be disappointed with these.  The tote was great for storing anything we bought and even my camera when I did not want to lug it around my neck anymore. Let me just say also that tunics are absolutely perfect for pregnancy. I was so comfy in this and adore that I can wear it afterwards as well. A win-win situation in my book.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I'm been trying to get over this never ending cold I picked up in California so needless to say, I've been very tired and worn out lately. With all of that aside, this fun Spring time look is so cheery with its pretty pink flamingo and candy colored bag, it simply makes me smile. Navy blue was the base color for my tank and skirt with pops of playful pink to brighten up the look and a light weight blazer to pull it all together. The hat I purchased the day before in Coronado at the French Room quickly became a favorite I wore everywhere. I also fell in love with these cute little beaded bracelets I got at the French Room with their stunning blue colors and romantic wording of "love."

Happy Friday everyone! Nothing makes me happier than getting closer to the weekend and Friday night takes the cake. This look was all about cool minty and blues hues as we spent our day at the beach and bike riding around Coronado Island. My little slice of paradise. Of course, some shopping was done as you can see in the first picture, which is where I scored this beautiful hat at the French Room on the island. It's a beautiful boutique filled with charming treasures sure to please every fashion palette.

This day was all about lounging on the beach. We went to La Jolla Shores and spent the whole day laying on the beach watching the ocean until sunset when we packed the car back up and then went back down to the beach to see the sun dip down into the ocean. It was a wonderfully relaxing day and just what I wanted. I used this LC Lauren Conrad sweater as a swim suit cover up. I love the lacy details and white colors. So fresh and romantic for the beach. The stripped dress is actually a maternity one from Target. It's the only maternity piece of clothing I own currently. It was so comfortable to wear, especially on a low key day.

This was one of my most favorite outfits that I wore on the trip. I had envisioned the nautical look and then hunted down the perfect pieces to create it. After staying with our friends over night, we traveled down the Pacific Coast Highway and eventually reached San Diego. This was our first day actually being in San Diego and we spent it on Coronado Island, my new paradise. We rode bikes around the island and watched the sunset on the beach. All of these pieces fit so perfectly together and I absolutely adore anything that has a nautical theme to it. I also love how all of these pieces can be worn with different outfits to create a completely new look.

Happy Monday. Today is an exciting post since it starts my vacation outfits, but also because my sweet husband is making an appearance! Justin really wanted to have a California feel for this trip and bought so many new clothes for it. I was so proud of him! I wanted to have a beachy relaxed feel to most of my outfits since I was traveling pregnant and did not know if I would suddenly get bigger or stay relatively the same size. We started the day off in Santa Monica and then traveled up to L.A. to see the Hollywood sign and visit Grauman's Chinese Theater. It was truly a dream come true for me seeing as how I adore classic Hollywood and so many artifacts still remain from those days. I was seeing stars in my eyes. Also note the tiniest bit of a baby bump showing. We went on this trip specifically as a baby moon.

Pittsburgh, PA

Back in early December, the 3rd and 4th to be exact, Justin and I traveled down to Pittsburgh for his companies Christmas dinner. We stayed at the Sheraton in Station Square which had the most beautiful view of the Pittsburgh skyline. I could have sat and stared out the window for hours. Once night time fell, we dressed for dinner and hailed a taxi to take us up to where the restaurant was. The view from there looked out onto all of the city. Simply spectacular, though I did not bring my camera to the dinner. The next morning, we both had room service bring our breakfast, a first for us!, which was probably the best part of the trip. This trip was right before I started getting sick too, which I still am battling, but hope to be better soon. With out further ado, here are some images from our quick trip.

Valley Forge

For the past few years my dad and I have been making a mini vacation out of his seminars for work. He usually goes to the Valley Forge one, to my delight, and we always have a great time. While he's at the seminars, I'll go to the King of Prussia Mall or go down to Valley Forge to walk around. This year, we had the Silver Beaver awards dinner while we were in Valley Forge, so we had to make a trip back up home and then back down in the same day. We always get out to eat once or twice on the trip. This year and last we went to Creed's Seafood and Steak. It has a great atmosphere with cozy seating and a menu to rival any big city. I usually get the Scottish Salmon. Our hotel has the best bistro in it, with booths that have tv's built into the walls. Breakfast and sometimes dinner are a must there. The nice thing about Valley Forge in the beginning of November are the leaves still being on the trees. Up in NEPA, most of the leaves are down and any that are still hanging on have lost their brilliance. I have so many memories of Valley Forge and the general area surrounding it, whether it be from these trips or when I lived there for a few months, this area will always have a special place in my heart.

Washington DC October

I have to say, this most recent Washington DC trip was a real treat for me. I had a wonderful engagement shoot to do and straight afterwards left to travel down to DC Saturday night. This was the first time I traveled by myself into a big city and boy did it make me feel invigorated and alive! The only other time I traveled out of state by myself was to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, which is a completely different atmosphere. My relatives were gracious enough to let me stay in their condo again while I was visiting the city. Needless to say when I arrived I decided to have a nice glass of wine out on the deck and watch the night come alive on the city streets below. This is one of my favorite past times while in DC.

My dad was actually in Washington as well with the boy scouts on their Traveling Camporee. I met up with my friend Mike the next day and we walked into town to meet up with my dad and spend the day together. We visited the American History Museum, which I absolutely loved. So many memento's of Americana to see. To name a few, The Ruby Slippers, Archie Bunkers Chair, The First Ladies Gowns, Presidential History, Julia Child's kitchen, the list goes on. Afterwards Mike and I dropped my dad off and then had a lovely dinner before he had to leave. I decided that I wanted to see a movie, Dracula Untold, so we walked to the theater before he caught the next metro train.

Monday morning was all about relaxing on the deck with my tea and oatmeal. I was driving over to Arlington to meet up with my dad and visit. The last time I was in Arlington was 2005 and that was specifically to see the Kennedy grave site. This time we explored more of the cemetery, but of course spent the most time at the Kennedy grave. This was the last day of the camporee for my dad so he came back to the condo to stay an extra night. We got back and sat on the deck for a while and then went out to dinner at Del Frisco's in the City Center complex. Let me tell you, we both agreed we had never had a better meal in our lives. The steak was to die for. We had home made donuts and cappuccino after for dessert. The whole meal was exquisite. Not only that, but right out of the window was a beautiful DC lit up at night. That was one magical dinner to remember.

Tuesday we got some breakfast in China town and then walked down into DC taking pictures along the way of course. Our eventual destination was the Bureau of Engraving, a place my dad has always wanted to see. The next tour was about an hour away when we did get there, so we sat on a bench near the Washington Monument. It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Once we took the tour we made our way over to the boy scout monument, had lunch, and decided on visiting Ford's Theater since my dad had never been there. Once we got back to the condo, I showed my dad the roof top, and then said good-bye to my favorite city. This was certainly a trip for the record books. I had so much fun being able to catch up with Mike, explore DC with my dad, and also be on my own for a bit in the city.

Peddlers Village

One thing my dad and I love to do is take little weekend trips. On a recent adventure, we traveled down to Peddlers Village near Philadelphia for a day filled with sunshine, shopping, and fun. This quaint  little village of shops really delights with beautiful scenery throughout, great restaurants, and little knick knack stores filled with treasures. Did I mention there is a cheese shop and a winery there? Well, indeed there is, plus a bakery, ice cream shop, two famous restaurants, coffee shops, a Bavarian nut shop, and so much more. I love to just walk around and take in all of the landscaping done throughout the village. Incredibly beautiful to wander around. I always get some seasonal items for the up coming holidays to decorate my home with and never leave without visiting the Pendleton store across the street. That my friends is some quality shopping right there.

3 Year Wedding Anniversary to the Finger Lakes

Today marks my three year wedding anniversary and what better way to celebrate than by looking back at some wonderful memories from our trip to the finger lakes a couple weeks ago. Justin and I decided to take our anniversary trip a little early this year and it turned out to be spectacular. The finger lakes have beautiful sweeping landscapes to gaze upon, which comprises of what Justin and I do while visiting. We love to simply drive around and relax while taking in all of the scenery around us. Of course we do visit our favorite winery Bully Hill and stock up on Ravot 51, our favorite wine that has pineapples in it and quite a sweet flavor. Other than that we love to have little picnics around the lakes, do some antique shopping, and try the local cuisine. The golden rod was flourishing and added an Autumn feel to the gorgeous views. Let's not forget the fabulous waterfalls the finger lake region has to offer as well. This year we got to see a new one for us, Ithaca Falls, pictured last. Also, you'll see I made a new little friend while having our picnic. All in all we had a wonderful time with so many memories filled with love. I feel so luck to be married to my best friend.

A quick little history for us, Justin and I took our "mini moon" to the finger lakes the weekend after we were married. I had started a new job and was not able to take any time off. We still wanted to go somewhere to celebrate so we chose a small weekend trip to the finger lakes. We eventually took our big honeymoon trip six months later to Florida, but have always had a special place in our hearts for this New York region. We also took our one year anniversary to the finger lakes and now our three year as well.

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

The Pine and Brine

To say I'm a little nostalgic about Rehoboth Beach would be putting it mildly. My family has been vacationing here for over 20 years. I have so many wonderful memories that I cherish deeply. The quaint little town is only 1 mile long by 1 mile wide and has the nickname "pine and brine" due to the forestry area at the Grear and Silver lakes with the ocean only 1 block away. It has the best of both worlds. Plentiful are the amount of restaurants and shops carrying anything your heart desires. I truly have always considered Rehoboth a home away from home. My dad and I got up every morning at 5:45 am to capture the sunrise so you'll see plenty of beautifully inspiring images. We always took a photo together with the wonderful sky as the backdrop. Below is a gallery of our most recent trip during the first week of September. The weather was scorching and the bath water temperature of the ocean felt great. You'll see classic beach images, both lakes and their surroundings, our favorite restaurants we visited, sunrise photos, nighttime images, and a tour of the Dogfish Head brewery located in Milton, Delaware.
