Do you ever find yourself day dreaming about a vacation or an island paradise you wish you were at? Mine is Cape Cod, specifically the village of Hyannis. My dad and I traveled up there for a little weekend getaway, our last trip together before baby Ava arrives, which made it all the more special. We arrived late Friday for dinner, had all day Saturday, and then left Sunday afternoon for the long journey home. We had the most amazing time and were able to relax and sight see all of our favorite spots, plus a few new ones. I'll have another post on that later.
Today I wanted to highlight the outfit I wore while walking around the town. Not only is this outfit perfect for the New England environment, it also could be a great 4th of July look as well! I wanted a nice roomy tote to carry around with me for stashing everything I needed including my camera and any little trinkets I picked up along the way. This Anne Taylor one is so versatile and is great for carrying around all of those necessities. I carried it around with me the entire time. I always wear heels, but when traveling and knowing I'll be walking around, I always opt for some pretty flats. I recently picked up these boat shoes and could not be any happier with them. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! These will undoubtedly be a staple in my closet for any nautical look or just for running around town. How cute is this hat too?!? I specifically bought the hat for this trip and completely fell in love with it the minute I opened up the box. I always get so many compliments while wearing it too. I last wore it here. Expect to see it a few more times!
Here's some photos of my dad and I throughout the day on Saturday. We went to the Kennedy museum, an absolute highlight for me, and then to the armory to get a photo in front since they had a new picture of JFK and Jackie on the front door. Finally, sitting and relaxing by the fire pit at our hotel before we headed off to dinner.
