The Butterfly House

A few days ago my dad and I took Ava to see a local butterfly house we have at a garden center. It truly takes you to a magical place when you step into the house and have butterflies fluttering by you and everywhere you look. Not only that, but the grounds are gorgeous. Flowers, plants, and ponds delight the senses with every step that you take. The beautiful sights and lovely scents the flowers give off are dreamy. I wanted something that would be easy to wear and feel fun and summery for our day out. I absolutely love the flowy sleeves on this off the shoulder top! The gauzy fabric feels great and the coral shade pops perfectly, especially with white jeans. It has a very loose fit making is super comfortable.

Crochet Open Back Blouse

Humble Chic Top c/o || White Shorts || Mar Y Sol Tote || Double Strap Clogs || Kate Tuesday Bracelet || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Olive Leaf Bangle c/o || Irresistible Me Sapphire Curler || Karen Walker Sunnies || Lip Color ||

Happy Monday! I'm just getting back into the swing of things after a trip to Philadelphia we took last week for a national seminar my dad was attending. We all had so much fun and I got to meet with some friends while in the city, which was lovely. It was their first time meeting Ava and she charmed just about everyone she met. She even made her first boyfriend haha. I'll talk more in depth about the trip when I get to those posts later on this week.

Today is all about this crochet open back blouse. As you've noticed, I adore wearing white in the summer. The crisp feeling cannot be beat. The crochet detailing is intricate and feels oh so feminine. The high-low blouse is great with skinny jeans or even leggins in the fall. It's been incredibly hot out so I paired mine with white shorts for a monochromatic look. Nothing feels more summery than white on white! I'm also obsessing over this tassel tote. The aqua color is vibrant and the tassels have a fun vibe and could not be any cuter!

I adore wearing fabrics that are especially feminine such as lace. There's something that feels quite special about donning the pretty fabric. I wanted this look to have softer colors to exude loveliness and romance. The lace crop top has a floral leaf pattern on it with a three quarter sleeve and cuts above the belly button. I do wish it were just a tad longer, but can simply pair it with higher a higher waisted skirt or shorts. I'm wearing an XS for reference. The white feels crisp and fresh for summer. I can't seem to get enough of it! The olive leaf bangle and earring set are darling for everyday use. I love how the earrings aren't tiny studs, but rather are a bit longer than your regular dainty items.

Backless Flare

Happy Tuesday, loves! I have to say this dress is pretty daring for me, but I could not resist wearing it! The peaches and cream coloring is so pretty in person. The photos do not do it justice. I'm wearing a small (the smallest size available) and found it to be slightly loose. I'd recommend going down 1 size if possible. This is one of those dresses where you cannot help but say wow! It's only $23.99 too. The "A" necklace adds a beautiful personal touch with its sparkling pave initial set in a brushed gold. It's very Carrie Bradshaw! This would also make a lovely gift. The turquoise bracelet and pink drop earrings add a nice pop of color. I'm especially loving turquoise for summer! I just got this bag, which matches it beautifully.

Flowy Dress in Rehoboth

Printed High-Low Dress || Sandals also in black || Kate Spade Bag || Sunnies || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

When I'm at the beach I love to wear easy breezy dresses that flow beautifully with the summer wind. After spending the day on the hot sand, I slipped into this silky dress for a night out on the town. The print on this dress reminded me of palms and had me dreaming of a tropical escape. The high-low design is especially good for us shorter gals! The bodice has boning in it for uplifting support while the neck tie can actually be removed to create a strapless dress. This dress felt amazing in the hazy hot humidity that hung around all day. I paired these lace up gladiator sandals with the outfit. The metallic and white elements are striking and great for summertime.

Happy Friday, friends! We've finally made it to another weekend and I am sooo happy we have since the humidity is supposed to break. We've had some extremely hot and humid days that simply take your breath away. Does anyone have any plans for the weekend?

My dad and I have traveled all over the Cape including Nantucket, but never made it over to Martha's Vineyard until this trip. We stayed in the little town of Oak Bluffs. I was pretty excited to see the ginger bread houses and they did not disappoint. Each one had its own unique qualities and charm to it. My favorite, and the most famous, is the pink house. Oh my, I would live there if I could! I love wearing anything nautical inspired and wanted something red, white, and blue for the journey over. With the 4th of July having been close on the horizon, I seem to have gravitated towards anything with patriotic colors. We first stopped at The Big Dipper to have some fresh coffee and donuts. They were so yummy and I would recommend stopping there as soon as you get off the ferry. We only had about three hours on the island so we explored all of the different houses and little shops. Vineyard Vines also has their flagship store on the island. It was a beautiful day and the ferry ride was spectacular!

Stripes // Stripes

One of my favorite spots to visit in Hyannis is the Kennedy Memorial. It's particularly beautiful right around sunset. Before dinner, my dad and I walked down through town to the memorial to get some photos and to see the beach and sail boats, which are what the memorial faces. Its an incredibly serene place to visit and sits right next to the Hyannis Yacht Club so there's always some kind of boat activity going on.

I've mentioned this before, but there's nothing more classic than wearing stripes. Whether going for Parisian chic or all American, stripes can elevate your style and pull a look together as easy as 1,2,3. I paired mine with white jeans for a crisp summery feel. I also wear this striped seersucker blazer from Banana Republic non stop all summer. Its the only blazer I usually grab when needed during the warmer months. The one I'm wearing is a from a few years ago, but they do have an ivory striped one that is similar and Target has a blue and white one very similar as well.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today I'm highlighting a chic new high-end golf wear line that was made for women by a woman. Now, I do not play golf, but do dabble in playing sports and can appreciate good materials, fit, and wear when I see them. Plus, these pieces work for off the field as well! The fabrics feel great against my skin and are anti-wicking to allow better breath-ability and quick drying comfort. Not only that, but the material acts as a genuine protective shield against uv rays, which is incredibly important and helpful to someone who is always outside. VK Sport products are designed to provide the quality and style of a luxury brand, combined with the innovative performance typically found in sports apparel. Think Tory Burch on the fairway!

I was completely comfortable all day wearing each of these items and let me tell you, it was a scorcher out. I was impressed with the fit of each item too. They hugged my body perfectly without being too loose or too tight. I wanted to showcase how the items, a polo, skort, and dress, could be worn with playing sports in mind (sneaker shots) compared to wearing them for a day or night out on the town. I simply swapped out the sneakers for some heels, a blazer, bag, and voila! You have a new fashionable look for both on and off the field. This is a fabulous line for women allowing fashion, fit, and functionality to shine through creating luxury typically not found in sports attire. It's also not just for sports, but a lifestyle.

A little side note: August is National Golf Month and VK Sport is a proud clothing sponsor for LPGA Professional Amelia Lewis!

Red, White, and Blue

Midi Skirt || Similar Striped Top || Sandals ||SimilarStraw Hat || Ava's Straw Hat || Kate Spade Bag || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July holiday! It's always nice to have the long weekend too. My dad, Ava, and Itook a quick trip down to Rehoboth Beach to cross an item off of my dad's bucket list. He's always wanted to see the fireworks on the beach for the 4th of July and in all the years we've been going there, 26 to be exact, we've never once gone on the patriotic holiday. The town was hustling and bustling with all kinds of activity, red, white, and blue displays of patriotism, and of course everyone gearing up for the big fireworks display on the beach Sunday night. I have to say, it was quite an amazing sight to see and it was Ava's first fireworks show!

There's nothing more festive than red, white, and blue themes for the summer holidays. It's a classic combination that never tires. Another staple in my wardrobe is stripes. I'm always adding more and more striped pieces into my wardrobe since I know I'll be wearing them so often. This midi skirt instantly caught my eye as being the perfect companion to my navy and white pieces. I don't own too many red items and knew this would fit right in. I love the quality of the fabric. It has a good weight to it and feels way more expensive than it really is. I'm wearing a size xs for reference.

Summer Fab Fit Fun Box

Fab Fit Fun Box c/o || Lemon Dress || Yellow Flats || Similar Yellow Bag || Boater Hat || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Similar Nautical Wheel Ring || Karen Walker Sunnies ||

Happy Friday! I'm so excited to talk about the summer edition of one of my favorite subscription boxes, FabFitFun. You get full sized premium products delivered four times a year for only $50 per box and shipping is free! See my Spring box here. I've been astounded with the excellent quality of each product and just how useful each one is. None of the items ever go to waste! The summer box celebrates the salty, sun-kissed splendor that summer is all about. The products included are:

  • FabFitFun Everyday Beach Waves Spray (love it!)
  • Betchsicles Pop Molds (used these when I saw a bit sick and they are fantastic!)
  • Summer and Rose Yoga Towel (cutest saying)
  • Stemulation Daily Micro Derm Scrub
  • Passport to Beauty Gypset Luminous Lips
  • Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream (new favorite!)
  • Trina Turk Canvas Tote (great for the beach)
  • Bonus Item: either Burt's Bees Essential OilorBB Cream. I got the BB Cream and have to say it covered amazingly good for not being a full foundation.

Yet again, I'm completely in love with all of these items! I'm a sucker for beauty products so I always get excited when I get to try some new ones. My everyday style is wavy and this beach waves spray gives my hair the prettiest wave without the crunch. The Osea Protection Cream feels lightweight and has a beautiful silky finish. I also love how I can combine it with my foundation for a little DIY CC Cream! The Luminous Lipsgave my lips a major boost of moisture with a subtle color that isn't overpowering. The Daily Micro Derm Scrub can actually be used on your face and body, which is pretty cool. It gently exfoliates to brighten and energize skin by reveling a youthful glow. I can't get enough of it, especially in the summer! . Now, I was actually a bit under the weather recently and used the Ice Mold Pops (shaped like champagne bottles!) to make some ice pops, which were a lifesaver. I can't wait to fill them something a bit more festive. The Yoga Towel has the cutest sayings on them, mine says good vibes, and are great for wicking away moisture. Lastly, the Canvas Tote is fabulous for packing all of your essentials when you're on-the-go. I used mineto pack some beach items, but this would also be great for running around town or by the pool side!

Rose Dreams

If I had to describe Cape Cod it would be charming and quaint. Every turn has beautiful bright blooms, picturesque homes, and a 40 mile stretch of gorgeous protected beaches. It's hard not to fall in love with the old world allure. That's not even to mention the scrumptious food too. I haven't had one bad meal there yet. My dad and I were graciously invited to Pain D' Avignon to indulge in one of their meals, we chose breakfast, and were absolutely blown away by their hospitality and incredibly appetizing food. The place was packed with a constant stream of customers coming through the doors. I decided on the Croquet Madame, while my dad had the Oeufs Poches. We both partook in a yummy blueberry tart for a little treat before heading out to enjoy some more antiquing and driving through various communities to explore what they have to offer.

This white dress with pretty pink roses adoring it has a retro inspiration that looks just as beautiful as it feels to have on. The fit and flare style, an absolute favorite of mine, compliments any body figure. I'm wearing a size small and found the length to be a bit longer than a midi style on my shorter frame (5'2.) I have to say, of all the outfits I wore on our trip, this dress got the most compliments. It's a head turner for sure! We ended up in Chatham where the main street is filled with shops and restaurants to fill everyone's interests and delights. At the end of the main street is the beach and lighthouse where the movie The Finest Hours was based out of. It's a destination we never miss!

Lovely Lemons

Lemon Dress || Yellow Flats || Similar Yellow Bag || Boater Hat || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Similar Nautical Wheel Ring || Karen Walker Sunnies ||

One of the many things I love about Cape Cod, besides all of the charm, is being able to explore new nooks and crannies each time we visit. We've been going up four years now and have only scratched the surface! After breakfast, we drove to Brewster to see the famous General Store. There were so many vintage inspired goodies inside. I had a field day! Afterwards, we enjoyed some coffee and cake on the front porch while watching all of the cars pass by. We then traveled on to visit Easthom where the Nausset Lighthouse is. It's the same lighthouse that is on the Cape Cod chip bag. It's our favorite and we always try to get our photo in front. Usually the beach there is open, but the winter storms had knocked out the stairs, leaving the beach closed down. In that case, we decided to head up the cape to visit Province Town for the first time. Plus, the National Seashore stretches up to the top so we would be able to partake in some sandy beach time too. Let me tell you, the food in P-Town is amazingggg! I've never had better fish in my life. Definitely worth the trip up.

Summer Bliss

Blue Striped Dress || Sunshine Flats || Similar Yellow Cross Body || Karen Walker Sunnies || Similar Hat || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Similar Nautical Wheel Ring || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

Happy Monday, friends! For the past couple of years, my dad and I have been traveling to the seaside escape of Cape Cod to relax, enjoy, and most importantly explore all the island has to offer! We had some breakfast as soon as we arrived and then jaunted off to the Kennedy Museum and around town before heading back to the hotel to check in and change into some fresh clothes. This striped flare dress is absolute perfection for summer! I'm wearing an XS for reference. The sash can be tied in the front or back. I chose the back to match the hat I was wearing, though most do tie it in the front. I adore the hi-lo hem and subtle blue and white stripes for a fresh take on a nautical classic. I knew I wanted some sun shine yellow to brighten up the ensemble, but red accessories would also look quite smashing. How adorable are these flats too?! They say 'Hello Sunshine' on them and feel rather comfy to wear for an all-day adventure. Once dinner time rolled around, we got ready to head off to Barnstable for a sunset dinner at Mattakeese Wharf, which I highly recommend. They sat us at the sunset table with spectacular views of the bay as the sun was slowly making its way down upon the horizon. Afterwards, we walked down to the beach and watched the rest of the sunset with other members from town. It was magical to watch and quite a memorable first day!

Pink + Colorful Tassels at Knoebels

Pink Tassel Dress c/o || Gold Loafers || Similar Straw Tote || Karen Walker Sunnies || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Lip Color ||

This past weekend I took Ava down to Knoebels Amusement park for her friends 2nd birthday party. We had such a fun time riding the train through the woods, interacting with the little ones, and gazing upon all of the excitement and bright lights. I cannot wait until Ava is a bit older and can ride some more of the park rides. Knoebels is one of my most favorite places and Justin and I would talk all the time about taking Ava for her first visit. It's an old time family park set in the woods with no admission fee. I have such fond memories of going with my family and friends and more recently with Justin. We would go at least 3 to 4 times every summer.

For a day at the park, I wanted to wear something comfortable and bright with a twist of summer time fun. The bright pink color really pops and the colorful tassels are huge this season. I love how cute they are! The back of the dress is really the showstopper lined up and down with the tassels. I'm wearing an xs and still have plenty of wiggle room with the shift style. This dress is also under $14! I also switched out my leather Daniel Wellington band for the NATO South Hampton band. You cannot go wrong with pink, blue, and white stripes! It's has a girly nautical vibe to it.

I also love how elegant this feels, yet it has a more relaxed structure to it.

Classically Feminine with Daniel Wellington

Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Similar Pink Chiffon Top || Similar Chiffon Shorts || Karen Walker Sunnies || Humble Chic Tote Bag c/o || Similar Studded Heels || Lip Color || Otterbox Case c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and had a happy father's day if you celebrated. Ava and I took my dad out to breakfast, which is his absolute favorite meal of the day. We ran some errands together, went to the grave sites, had a lovely bbq with family friends, and then my brother and his fiance came over for dinner. It was a jam packed day with so many good memories. Ava also had a big Saturday with her first trip to an amusement park! It was her friend's 2nd birthday party at Knoebel's and we had an amazing time. She got to ride the train with me, which was a highlight since that's one of my favorite rides. It takes you through the woods and you get to see all of the beautiful scenery while having the summer breeze blow through your hair. She has the biggest smile on her face!

My favorite style to wear is anything classically feminine. I feel the most comfortable and "me" when I wear pieces that have romance intertwined and woven throughout the outfit. Soft beautiful colors and dreamy fabrics like chiffon, silk, and tulle make my heart pitter patter. When carefully choosing which pieces i'm going to wear for the day, I also want to make sure my accessories match and have an elegant feel to them. I've recently been wearing watches every single day. I used to wear them when I was younger, but stopped a few years ago. Now, you won't find me without one! Watches are a timeless piece of jewelry that both men and woman can wear, which are not only practical, but stylish too. Daniel Wellington watches have a thin clean design that are suitable for any occasion. The watch has either a leather strap or a NATO one, both easily interchangeable. I'm wearing the classic St. Mawes leather strap, but also have the South Hampton NATO strap. I'm completely head over heels for the rose gold face too! ~Swoon~ Each watch can use the interchangeable straps making every one of them unique.

Hair Styles with Aveda

Aveda Dry Shampoo c/o || Aveda Firm Hold Hair Spray c/o || Aveda Thickening Tonic c/o || Aveda Styling-Prep Smoother c/o ||

Outfit 1: Green Striped Shirt || Old Polka Dot Shorts || Keds || Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Rumba Time Watch c/o ||

Outfit 2 || Gingham Top || Gingham Shorts || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Chloe and Isabel Earrings ||

Happy Thursday, friends! I've always been a sucker for trying new beauty products to find the perfect match for me. Finding a company that has quality ingredients, lasting results, and cares about our environment are important factors in my choosing. Aveda hair care products have all of these are more. I've always wanted to try them and am so glad that I finally have. I used each product to create two hair styles that are pretty fabulous for second day hair or when the weather is super hot. The first style is a crown braid that I created and then switched into my ballerina outfit for my brother's birthday celebration. The second is a fish tail braid that is a fun alternative to your everyday braid.

For the first look I started with the Shampure Dry Shampoo, which is actually a powder!, on my roots to soak up any oils and impurities. I love how it instantly revived my hair and smells soooooo good! It has a calming aroma with 25 pure flower and plant essences. Next, separate hair on either side and create a three strand braid on each side. Take one of the braids and wrap it around to the front of the head, securing with a pin at the ear on the opposite side. Repeat with the other braid wrapping it around the head just behind the first braid. To finish the look, I used the Control Force Hair Spray to create an all day firm hold and 24 hour humidity defense. This hair spray also has a net-zero climate impact, UV filters and anti-oxidents, is fast drying and non-flaking, and has certified organic essential oils of Bulgarian lavender, bergamont, palmarosa, and vetiver-calming aroma.

For the second look I started with the thickening tonic to expand my strands from roots to ends. Its 97% naturally driven and powered by botanicals with a refreshing herbal aroma with certified organic vanilla, bergamont, clay sage, and other pure plant and flower essences. Next, I applied the Style Prep Smoother to protect against surface damage, defend against humidity for 12 hours and to create a smooth surface on my hair. Like all of the other products, this smelled amazing! The citrus floral blend is simply yummy.  Next, I divided my hair into two sections at the back of my head. Grab a section of hair from the outside , cross it over and combine with the other side. Now with the opposite side, grab a small amount of hair from the outside, cross it over and combine with hair on the opposite side. Repeat until you reach the end of the section. I finished the look with the Control Force Hair Spray.

Ballerina in the City

Similar Unitard || Pink Tulle Skirt c/o || Rebecca Minkoff Bag || Similar Bow Heels || Headbands of Hope headband c/o || Similar Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Rumba Time Watch c/o || Aveda Dry Shampoo c/o || Aveda Control Force Hair Spray c/o ||

One word that comes to mind when I think of this look is romance. The dreamy pink tulle skirt matched with the softer makeup and braided hair crown all come together beautifully in this re-imagining of a ballerina. I have a certain weakness when it comes to tulle and this skirt is no exception! It's a one size fits all with a little tie at the waist to help with the fit and a price point of under $18. The length was perfect for me and I love how the skirt moved if a slight breeze hit or when I was walking. I'm not sure if anyone here has ever worn a unitard piece, but they are amazing! I love wearing them with skirts since there is no extra bunching of fabric when you tuck your shirt in. This one I'm wearing is an old Modcloth buy from a few years ago, but similar ones like this are available now. The seamless smooth fit is worth it. I'll go into more depth with tomorrow's post about the hairstyle, but I'll quickly touch base with it here since this was the finished product. I used this dry shampoo, which is actually a powder and smells sooooo good, and this hairspray to create the braided crown. It was easier than I thought and I was happy with how it turned out. It's something I'll have to perfect, but for a first try, not too bad haha!
