Romance In The City

Good morning all! As you may or may not know, Chicwish is one of my favorite sites to find on trend pieces with amazing detail and a great price point. My favorites from there have always been the dresses and skirts, but that should be no surprise, haha. This dress runs true to size. I'm wearing an XS for reference. The floral embroidery is so pretty and the trimming has little pom poms, which are the cutest. I typically hesitate with maxi styles, but this dress fit my 5'2 frame without dragging on the ground which is definitely a win! Speaking of my height, maxi styles give the illusion of height too. I'm always on the lookout for little tips and tricks to look taller =)

Elegant Crochet Dress

Good morning, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends. Mine was pretty productive and equally relaxing so no complaints here! The only thing is we've been in this weather pattern of rain almost everyday with maybe one or two nice days thrown in there. I hope that breaks soon.

One day last week I wore this gorgeously elegant crochet dress from Chicwish that made me feel like a princess. It's one of those dresses that you could wear as a wedding guest, to a bridal shower, on date night, or even to a fancy brunch. It fits true to size and on my height (5'2) is more of a maxi style. One thing I noticed with the halter style is that it can be a little tight around the neck when sitting down if you don't have some extra slack. The crochet detailing is white with a blush pink layer underneath. This dress is STUNNING! It's appearance is soft and feminine and oh so romantic.

One of the many things I love about Cape Cod, besides all of the charm, is being able to explore new nooks and crannies each time we visit. We've been going up four years now and have only scratched the surface! After breakfast, we drove to Brewster to see the famous General Store. There were so many vintage inspired goodies inside. I had a field day! Afterwards, we enjoyed some coffee and cake on the front porch while watching all of the cars pass by. We then traveled on to visit Easthom where the Nausset Lighthouse is. It's the same lighthouse that is on the Cape Cod chip bag. It's our favorite and we always try to get our photo in front. Usually the beach there is open, but the winter storms had knocked out the stairs, leaving the beach closed down. In that case, we decided to head up the cape to visit Province Town for the first time. Plus, the National Seashore stretches up to the top so we would be able to partake in some sandy beach time too. Let me tell you, the food in P-Town is amazingggg! I've never had better fish in my life. Definitely worth the trip up.

Gingham is one of those prints that instantly brings to mind spring and summer. Memories of sunshine filled days spent outside enjoying life. This past weekend I got to make some new memories while wearing this black and white gingham dress, which was perfect for the occasion. My dad, Ava, Caitlin, and I all went to the Poconos for breakfast, antiquing, stopped for some ice cream, took a side trip to see a lake, and arrived home just in time for dinner. We had a great time.

The one worker at the antique store said he loved my vintage themed outfit and how perfect it was for the spring weather. For under $30, the quality of the fabric is great and has a fun filled and fancy free feeling to it. I'm already planning all of the different ways I'll be wearing this dress all summer ranging from tan accessories like I have here, to pops of red, or even all black. This dress is a maxi style, which worried me because of my height (i'm 5'2) but I added some wedges and had no problem at all, plus they are super comfy! I'm also wearing a size XS and found it to be a little bit tight. I probably could have gone with a small and had a bit more breathing room.
