There's something so feminine and beautiful about lace. I became completely smitten when I saw this Paper Crown dress in a gorgeous mint shade. The fabric is thick (excellent quality) and the length hits right below my knees. The low back is even more stunning and adds a sexiness to the dress while still keeping it demure. I'm wearing a size 2 and found it to be quite comfortable. It was a little loose in the waist, but anything tighter my have made it uncomfortable when sitting down. The dress has a subtle fit-and-flare style making it perfect for almost every body type and its my favorite to wear! This is the perfect dress for your next soiree, a date night out or an elegant brunch with the girls.

Gray Lace Dress

There is something special about a "going out" dress that you save for special occasions or when date night rolls around. The detailing on this dress is what caught my eye with its tiered ruffles and netted mesh creating an overall lace look. The beautiful soft gray color feels feminine and pairs well with other soft colors (think pastels) or with black. I went with other soft grays and blush to finish off the look. I kept getting asked where this dress was from while Ava and I were out because of how uniqueit looks. I'm wearing a size XS for reference and found it to fit snug. It does say to go up one size on the site so if you like some wiggle room then I would suggest to go up one size.

60s Mod Style

Good morning and happy Thursday, friends! I thought I would take a little break from all the pinks and blues and do a more dramatic look reminiscent of the 1960s mod era. Is anyone else thinking about Mad Men when they see this outfit?! That's kind of what it reminds me of, which by the way, I absolutely adore that show! When I saw this dress on Chicwish, it instantly popped off the page at me. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It's definitely a head turner! The black and white offers a stunning contrast, while the bright red in my lip color gives a nice little pop of color. I'm wearing an XS for reference. Don't forget Chicwish is still offering 20% off of your order in honor of Mother's Day. Use the code GFM20.

Floral Lace in the City

Two things I make sure to bring with me on trips are dresses and a good pair of flats. Dresses are the simply chic outfit all in one, while a pair of dressier flats will keep you looking polished and your feet happy while exploring. I knew that my dad and I would be doing tons and tons of walking while in D.C. (that's the fun part!) so I packed these slip on gold pointed loafers. The classic mens wear inspired shoe never fails and kept me going all day long without any discomfort. I always prefer a pointed toe to keep the look modern. The purple and pink floral print with the lace detailing could not be any more lovely. It's the perfect dress for Sunday brunch, a day of sightseeing, or a fun date night filled with walks in the park, ice cream, and a movie. I'm wearing a size small for reference.

For the beginning of this day in D.C., my dad and I did a tour of the Capitol building and went to Union Station to meet some friends of mine. We then all had lunch al fresco at a new restaurant called Romero and Juliet. It's right near Union Station and I highly recommend it if you're in the neighborhood. Next, we all trekked down to the Library of Congress. I kept joking that I was waiting for Nick Cage to pop out at any time! Both the Capitol and Library are magnificent buildings. I was blown away by the grandeur and architecture between the two. Simply breathtaking. Below are some indoor photos from each.
