My Makeup Brush Set

If you're like me then you pretty much have your makeup routine down to a science by now. I know which products work for me and what looks best on me. I rarely stray from my everyday makeup routine unless I'm going for a bold look for a night out. Other than that, I stay true to my classic look of a winged eye, blushed cheeks, and pink lipstick. Have you ever thought about the application of your makeup?

Obviously, there are many options out there, but the typical ones are brushes. I remember the first time I saw oval brushes come onto the market and thought they looked interesting. I always wondered how they would work. Would they blend better into a flawless coverage over traditional brushes? I was excited to try this 10 piece set out from My Makeup Brush and see how they actually performed. Each brush handle has what the intended use for the application is. I found that I liked how the bigger brushes were for foundation, blush, powder, and contouring. The smaller ones for eye makeup and highlighting were a bit difficult to navigate, though they were small enough for a precise application. All in all, the brushes definitely work, especially the larger ones. The brushes were soft and felt nice when applying my makeup. The smaller ones I could honestly take or leave and prefer my traditional brushes for that type of makeup appilcation.

Polka Dot Bud Skirt

Happy first day of March! I can hardly believe we are already into the third month of the year. This month also brings with it the long awaited first day of spring, which I am counting down the days until. With that being said, we've been lucky enough to get a little preview of the beautiful spring like weather over these past few days. I could hardly wait to break out some warm weather favorites like this polka dot bud skirt. I'm wearing an XS which fit like a glove. The hem is a high low style with frilly accents. Polka dots always have a youthful flirty vibe that makes me want to smile. The soft baby blue color with white polka dots feels fresh for spring. This white lace top is the perfect wardrobe staple to add for spring. The mesh lace panel gives an update to the classic white button down with a slight vintage vibe. Another great way to wear the top would be with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a chic pair of mules. I'm loving this blush pair at the moment.

Happy Friday, friends! I'm typically drawn to soft romantic colors, but every now and then I love to spice it up with a bold and dramatic outfit. Enter this chic ruffled top with a bright cherry red skirt. Its a look that screams care free summer time fun. I'm wearing an XS in the top. It's fantastic for the transition weather seeing as how it has long sleeves too. Speaking of the weather, I've been absolutely adoring the warm weather (hello 70 degrees!) we've been having lately! I make sure to get Ava and I out everyday to enjoy it. Sadly, I think we're still in for at least one more snow storm. The temperature is supposed to drop back down on Sunday. Anyway, the subtle blue and white stripes on the top also caught my eye. I'm a big fan of blue and white clothing, especially in the spring and summer. There's some great blue and white pieces out there right now that I have my eye on. It reminds me the beach, summer, and Cape Cod in particular. Now, I'm really wishing it were summer already!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Is anyone else going to be watching The Oscars this Sunday? I simply cannot wait! I watch the awards show every year. It's the ultimate for any movie fans out there.

Today is a very exciting day! One of my favorite brands, LC Lauren Conrad has recently launched a new handbag line and beginning in March, a new fine jewelry line. I remember when there were rumors of a handbag line being added to the apparel at Kohls and I could not contain my excitement. The handbag collection will be refreshed each month with brand new styles including clutches, crossbodies, satchels and totes. The inspiration for the handbags includes vintage details, feminine, easy shapes, marrying back to the apparel in the LC Lauren Conrad brand. Prices will typically range from $39-$89, which is a steal for a well made bag. I'm personally loving the mini tote I have above. The blush shade with rose gold hardware and floral design is simply stunning! It's so versatile for spring and summer.

As I mentioned, along with the new handbags is also a fine jewelry line. Jewelry styles will include rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and cuffs in either 10 karat gold, rose gold or white jewelry. The types of gem stones included will be diamonds, green amethyst, morganite, blue topaz, and purple amethyst. Prices for the jewelry line will range from $340-$2,525. I cannot wait to see the entire jewelry collection once it launches in March. The necklace I'm wearing above is fabulous for everyday wear with its delicate details and diamond accent in 10k white gold.

Both collections will be available in select Kohl’s stores nationwide and on Kohls.com

Red, White, and Blue Tweed Blazer

Happy Wednesday, friends! It seems that I've been having quite a thing for tweed blazers lately and can you blame me really?! They're one of my favorite layering pieces when the weather starts changing and a heavier coat is not longer needed. They always feel incredibly chic and give a nod to the lovely ladies of the past. While I typically think of a tweed blazer or jacket in the fall, it can also be worn as a transition piece into the spring as long as the colors feel light and airy. This jacket would also be fantastic for those cool summer nights where a little extra warmth is needed. The red, white, and blue color scheme has nautical and patriotic vibes all rolled into one and for only $40, its a piece that won't brake the bank. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the jacket too. The fix is a bit boxy, but I've found that to be the norm when selecting tweed jackets. I'm wearing an XS, which fit perfectly.

Chanel Inspiration

Happy Friday, friends! This look was super easy to put together and at a great price tag too! Those are always the beat kind aren't they?! The look has that classic Chanel feel to it with clean lines, tweed, and the prettiest little bow tie. Now, the tie looks like its a part of the jacket, but its actually on the dress. The jacket buttons up right to the bow. The faux fur on the jacket gives the outfit a whimsical touch too, always a favorite of mine! The dress comes in at $24, while the jacket is $36. An absolute steal for both and with pieces that can be used again and again. I'm wearing an XS in both pieces.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! We're supposed to be getting some warmer temps so if you live near by then make sure you get some time to spend outside.

Spring Time Feeling

Whenever the weather turns nice, I instantly feel the need to pull out all of my dresses and skirts. Spring fever hit yesterday and boy did it feel good! I do have to say that so far we have had a mild winter, which I love, and have even had some warm days mixed in with the blustery cold. I'm not complaining, haha. With some warmth in the air, I grabbed this peony printed midi skirt along with this striped bow tie top. I've always been a big fan of pairing blue and pink together. It's one of my favorite color combinations and one that I use quite frequently. Pretty much every girl I ran into while out also loved the skirt. You know its a winner when that happens! For sizing, I'm wearing a xs and found it to fit perfectly at my waist.

Plaid on Plaid

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope everyone had a fun weekend and if you watched the Super Bowl, that you enjoyed the game. I didn't really see any outstanding commercials this year, but the last half of the game was pretty exciting to watch! How about it being the first time ever in Super Bowl history that the game went into overtime too?! I'm a sucker for little historical facts like that. They get me every time haha.

I'm not going to lie, it was absolutely freezing outside the day I wore this outfit. I honestly should have had gloves on because my hands felt like icicles. Plaid is one of those patterns I'm guessing everyone has at least one item of in their wardrobe. It's a classic and has become a staple to wear in the fall and winter months. It's also a pattern that mixes well with others, say leopard, polka dots, or itself as I have above. I love how vibrant the pop of yellow is against the backdrop of blue, black, and white. It brightens up the whole look and stands out from the crowd. Over the knee boots are a lifesaver in the colder temps too. My legs definitely thanked me for having them on! Not only that, but they create a sleek and streamlined appearance making your legs look longer than they actually are. Win win for us shorter gals!

Weekend Style

Happy Friday!! This Sunday is Superbowl Sunday, which means hopefully a good game and some pretty awesome commercials. I'll be rooting for the Patriots. Anyone else excited for the big game??

A combo I'll never tire of is stripes with anything haha. Honestly, you can never go wrong with stripes. I layered up with a military jacket topped off with my camel coat. I know I had mentioned before how I typically never used to wear sneakers, but lately companies have really been stepping up their game in the sneaker department. There are so many chic choices now a days! These are a subtle pink and fit true to size.

Just a quick post for today. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and if you're watching the Super Bowl then I hope you have fun watching the game! Go Patriots!!

Mommy And Me Valentine's Day

Oh my little Ava bug. These are always my favorite kinds of posts to do. The whole time I was like, oh I love you so much Ava and she kept eyeing the cupcakes haha. She had cake on her first birthday, but this was the first time she had cupcakes and let me tell you, she LOVED them! As you can see from most of the photos, she's holding one and has icing all over her mouth. They were Ava approved! I tried to get our dresses to match as best I could too. I really want to find a store that specializes in matching mother daughter outfits. My dress is an old one from Modcloth. Ava's is a recent one from The Children's Place.

Every Valentine's Day I pretty much prepare the same treats and make sure the house has pretty flowers throughout it. While many feel this may be a "hallmark" holiday, I see it as a day to celebrate all of the love you have in your life. In grade school, we handed out valentines to our friends and as we grew older, we started celebrating with significant others. Whether it be your husband, wife, best friend, mother, father, brother, sister, daughter, or son, you can celebrate with any of these people and show them that you care. The list can go and on and on!

Winter Florals

Happy February 1st friends! In the blink of an eye, the first month of the year is already behind us. It's crazy how fast time moves. Is everyone sticking to their New Years resolutions or at least thinking about them? Usually by this time you've already tried to do something or its been a forgotten thing of the past, haha. I was honestly never one to even make resolutions so there's no judgement from me. This month also features Valentines Day! It's always been one of my favorite holidays to celebrate whether you're with a significant other or not.

Perhaps with the holiday on my mind, I dressed up this past weekend in shades of blush with darker florals for the winter season. I honestly have had this dress for a little while, which it is on major sale right now!, but just had not photographed it yet. I've worn it to family gatherings, coffee dates, pretty much any social gathering you can think of. it's a fantastic dress to take you from fall, to winter, and into spring. How about these shoes too?! My eyes nearly bugged out when I saw them. That little fluffy pom pom on the toe is everything. If you do not wear high heels often, these may be a bit tricky to wear. They're on the higher side. They do take some time to break in too. Once I wore them around for a few hours, they felt much better on. Sizing was also true to size for me.

Vintage Vibes Nautical Style

Happy Tuesday, friends! One of my favorite ways to be inspired is to watch either classic movies or look at vintage fashion ads/photographs. The 1940s through the early 1960s has always been my favorite time periods, especially for fashion. When it comes down to it, I'm totally a vintage babe at heart. I know many of my friends on here are also! This look has a vintage flare with nautical style. Nautical looks catch my eye right off the bat. I'm always drawn to them, whether they be preppy or whimsical, though nautical styles tend to always lean more on the preppy side than anything else.

When re-creating a vintage inspired look, its important to not include too many vintage items or else you look dated, unless that's what you're going for! My hat is from an antique shop and actually a vintage item. The red lips and pearls also give off a vintage flair. Without the hat and pearls though, this look wouldn't be as vintage-y and would have a very more modern edge to it. It just goes to show how a few accessories can completely change an outfit!

Hello and happy Thursday, friends! Alright, so I am incredibly in love with this outfit. It has all the elements that truly speak to me and my style. Tulle, embellishments, soft colors, and a very twirl worthy skirt. Haha, I will tell you that I even went grocery shopping in this. While I went with soft colors, this skirt would look equally dazzling with a darker top of burgundy velvet or anything but basic black. This look definitely reminds me of a Disney princess too. I don't know what it is about tulle skirts, but they always make me think of a princess. Not a bad thing! Speaking of, is anyone else getting really excited to see the live action Beauty and the Beast? It is one of my favorite Disney movies and I am counting down the days until it premiers! This skirt fit true to size for me and cut off right at my ankles.

Peachy Keen

Tobi Jumpsuit c/o || Rose Gold Heels || Sunglasses || Mansur Gavriel Bag || Christian Paul Bracelet c/o || Christian Paul Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band || Lip Color: Ava

One color that is flattering on all skin tones is peach. Besides the delicate lace detailing, it was the color that instantly caught my eye when looking through some jumpsuits. I have to say, I never thought I would be one to like jumpsuits, but they're comfortable and stylish all in one. I've said this before, but they're the dress of the pants world. An all in one outfit. The name of this jumpsuit is Mrs. Bond, which I may add also caught my attention since I absolutely love the Bond movies. I mean, how cool is that?!? I'm wearing an x-small which fit perfectly in the waist, but was a big baggy in the pants. The pants were a bit long on me and I had roll the cuffs under for the shoot. Usually, I would go get them hemmed to skim the top of my shoes. I chose the matchy matchy theme and went with pinks and rose golds to compliment the peachy tone of the jumpsuit.

Cozy Neutrals

Hello, friends and happy Friday! Today's look is all about cozy neutrals and casual style. Lace up sweaters are quite popular right now with typically the laces going up the chest. This sweater I'm wearing has the laces on the sleeves, which are slightly oversized offering an almost bell like appearance. I really love the sandy neutral color too. Perfect for mixing with other colors or a pattern play! Use the code Amanda 20 for 20% off of your Haute Shop order.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Oh the gloomy days of winter. We've been having ice storms, rain storms, and a slushy mess for the past few days. I tend to gravitate towards darker clothing when the weather gets like this, but I also love to add in that pop of color to brighten up the look and add some pizazz. I will note right off the bat that this plaid shirt was the vain of this shoot haha. I threw it in the dryer and ironed it to get the wrinkles out, but it STILL wrinkled. Talk about annoying and a pain in the you know what. This woolrich coat has lately been my go-to for running out the door. I love how bright and happy the color makes me and that its nice to layer sweaters under. One of my favorite items here is the doubled layered skirt. It has a mini under layer with a full pleated outer layer. It's on e of those skirt that will go with just about anything in your closet. Items like that are great investment pieces. You'll get use out of them for years to come!

Tobi Pink Scalloped Dress c/o || Embellished Sweater || LC Lauren Conrad Coat (Similar) || Booties || Sunglasses || Rebecca Minkoff Bag || Christian Paul Watch c/o || Christian Paul Bracelet c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band || Lip Color: Ava ||

Hello all and happy Tuesday! Ok, so first this pink scalloped dress from Tobi is called the KENNEDY dress. Oh my goodness, that alone right there had me sold, haha. If you know me or have been reading this blog for a while, then you know my love for JFK and the Kennedy's runs deep. Besides that, I have a affinity for pastels and its always fun to style the softer hues during the winter months when usually darker shades are worn. This dress even has dainty scallops along the neckline and hem. It's one of those dresses that is so easy to throw on and head out the door. Especially when spring hits and you do not have to layer anymore. I'm wearing an XS and it fit like a glove so the sizing is spot on.

Over the weekend I went to go see La La Land with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. They always have the best chemistry together. It feels so real! If you don't know what I'm talking about then do yourself a favor and watch Crazy, Stupid, Love. Anyway, so La La Land was good and I loved the musical scenes. Emma and Ryan danced and sang fantastically, especially Ryan playing the piano, which I heard he had to practice for a few months to nail it. That is actually him playing in the movie! The only thing that felt a bit off was that the movie was very random. It's just one of those movies though. It's supposed to be like that. Overall, I liked it, but Emma and Ryan defintely made it.

Blue Velvet Wrap Dress

Hello, friends and happy Friday! I always get a bit excited for Friday's. They're the start of the weekend and anything seems possible. Speaking of Friday, this look has all the perfect elements for a date night or a night out on the town. It's simple and sophisticated with a touch of glam luxury. The velvet is so soft to the touch and the wrap style of the dress feels incredibly comfortable to move in. How stunning is the blue color too?! It's listed as a navy blue, but it's actually a bit more vibrant than that. I found the length to be perfect for my 5'2 frame and the XS fit perfectly. The dress is under $21 making it a great addition to your wardrobe.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! The weather is supposed to get frigid again around my area. I'm not a happy camper about that haha. You know my feelings about the cold weather. I am supposed to go see La La Land though, which I am super excited about! I'll let you know how the movie was on Monday. Cheers everyone!

Winter White Lace

Happy Thursday, friends! We've been having a little touch of spring weather here, which obviously means going outside as much as possible! I jump at the chance anytime the weather turns nice. This white lace top, which has some Chanel vibes, conjures up dreamy thoughts of beautiful spring time rejuvenation. White lace always does that to me. The darling black velvet details really make this top stand out. Also, the bell sleeves. You know I have a thing for bell sleeves! The little bow tie at the neckline simply has me swooning too. The top does run one size small so I would recommend sizing up one. How fantastically vintage is this circle bag too?! It's officially my new favorite shape for bags and one that feels refreshingly new, even though technically its taken from the past. See, everything old does become new again! My dad would say that all the time, haha.

Bow Bell Sleeves

Chunky Bell Sleeve Sweater c/o || Court Style Coat c/o || Black Skater Coat || Sequin Jeans || Similar Booties || Tory Burch Bag || Freyrs Sunglasses c/o || Baublebar Earrings c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band ||

Hello all and happy Tuesday! I'm sure you've noticed by now, but I kind of have a thing for detailed sleeves. I've always been a bit self conscious about my arms because they are sooo thin. I used to say I had sticks for arms. Don't even get me started on finding bracelets that would fit my tiny wrists. I really like this trend since its absolutely fun and also adds so volume to arms. Win, win! As soon as I saw this sweater I was hooked. It's a chunky knit, great for the chilly weather we've been having, has a turtleneck, and also has bell sleeves with tiny black bows on them. Now, I've got to be honest, I totally tied the bows wrong and didn't even realize it until way later in the day. The ribbon should go around the wrist from the bottom and then tie the bow on top. I never tied the ribbon around my wrist, so #fail haha. In any case, I'm completely in love with it.

It was freezing yesterday, i'm talking in the teens, so layering was a must. I really like the court style coat alone with this as it adds some texture and emphasizes the bell sleeves even more. The sweater is so warm that had it been a bit warmer, say in the 30s, I wouldn't have even needed the extra skater coat on top. The sweater is a one size fits all and fit me perfectly. It is on the cropped side though so keep that in mind. It's also under $22. I definitely plan on wearing this again before winter is out. Possibly with a skirt and some tights and a pop of color mixed in. I'll also try to get the bow tied right next time, haha! Hey, we all need to laugh at ourselves sometimes.

I hope that everyone is staying safe with the crazy weather that's been going on all over the country. Every night the news has been showing images and video of the wild weather wrecking buildings and trees. Scary stuff.
