Fall Colors, Prints, & Textures

Green Sweater || Houndstooth Blazer || Corduroy Skirt || Crocodile Circle Bag || Embellished Tweed Heels || Earrings || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o ||

Happy Thursday, everyone! It’s a rainy day here today, but I’m throwing it back to an outfit I wore a few weeks ago. I meant to post it earlier, but was very sick all of last week so now i’m playing catch up. This look is all about some of my favorite fall textures, patterns, and colors that make me smile. Tweed is an absolute staple in my fall wardrobe, especially for blazers like this hounds tooth one. Another favorite is corduroy, whether its jackets, blazers, pants, or skirts like this golden yellow one, which also happens to be one of my favorite fall colors along with the forest green sweater I’m wearing. I have a thick cable knit green sweater that I wear and have worn for years and years. It’s a go-to for me so stocking up on this color is a no brainer. Speaking for the style side of fall, all of the different the textures and patterns is why I love it so much. It’s a chance to layer up and explore different possibilities.

Tweed & Pearls // Chanel Inspired

Tweed Blazer c/o || Pink Bow Top (Similar) || Straight Leg Crop Jeans || Tory Burch Bag || Cap Toe Pumps || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings ||

There’s nothing I love more than a good dupe and this post is chock full of them! Chanel inspiration takes the cake today from the beautiful pearl embellished tweed jacket to the ever versatile cap toe pumps. Even the quilted flap bag is a Chanel lookalike, but at a fraction of the cost. The tweed jacket is a true stunner and the perfect layering piece for fall. With gorgeous pearl detailing along the front, neck, cuffs, and pockets, this piece is sure to keep you polished all season long.

Also, may we never forget the horrific events of September 11th, 2001 and pray for all of those affected. It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 years already. I remember that day crystal clear as if it were yesterday. All of the victims, their family’s, friends, and loved ones are in my thoughts today and everyday.

Red, White, and Blue Tweed Blazer

Happy Wednesday, friends! It seems that I've been having quite a thing for tweed blazers lately and can you blame me really?! They're one of my favorite layering pieces when the weather starts changing and a heavier coat is not longer needed. They always feel incredibly chic and give a nod to the lovely ladies of the past. While I typically think of a tweed blazer or jacket in the fall, it can also be worn as a transition piece into the spring as long as the colors feel light and airy. This jacket would also be fantastic for those cool summer nights where a little extra warmth is needed. The red, white, and blue color scheme has nautical and patriotic vibes all rolled into one and for only $40, its a piece that won't brake the bank. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the jacket too. The fix is a bit boxy, but I've found that to be the norm when selecting tweed jackets. I'm wearing an XS, which fit perfectly.

Valley Forge Layering

One of my favorite trips that my dad and I take each year is to Valley Forge. The national park is beyond beautiful with scenic views every where you turn. I am always at peace when I visit the park and find it to be so relaxing. Only a few minutes down the road is the famous King of Prussia mall and shopping district. You would never know there is a city or even a larger one (Philadelphia) nearby when you're actually at the park. It's a world onto itself.  I have a very special place in my heart for the area since Justin and I had lived nearby early in our relationship and then my dad and I started taking this weekend trip for his podiatry seminars.

The weather for the trip was insanely gorgeous. Clear blue sapphire skies with the golden sun shinning down creating warm days that are usually hard to find in November. A simple blazer was enough to be comfortable throughout the day. I wanted a relaxed weekend country look for being around the park using a red, pink, and blue color combo. An easy way to layer that isn't too bulky is to start with a tissue thin turtleneck followed by a button down shirt either tucked in or not. Top that off with a blazer and you're all set!
