Tied With A Bow Wrap Skirt

Spring has finally sprung in Pennsylvania! The past two weeks have provided some magical days and evenings with the flowering trees blooming, the weather turning a tad warmer, and the fresh scent of spring in the air. I find the pretty blossoms to be the absolute best backgrounds and wish they would last longer than they usually do. Every time we see a blossom tree, Ava points it out with such excitement. She was such a darling during this photo shoot too. She kept bringing flowers over to me with the biggest smile on her face. She melts my heart! This wrap skirt was the perfect compliment to our afternoon out in the sun. With the temperatures rising, I wanted a look that reminded me of sunshine and blue skies. Of course, blue and yellow also have a nautical vibe to them, which I adore and its one of my favorite color combos! The skirt also has the most adorable ruffles along the hemline and fits true to size. Along with a day out in the spring, I can also imagine wearing this on a beach vacation!

Anchors Aweigh

Happy Thursday, friends! If you don't see me wearing something flirty and romantic, then you most certainly will find me in something nautical inspired. I can't help but love the classic preppy style that reminds me of fond memories spent at the beach on family vacations and the dreamiest of all places, Cape Cod. Spring and summer is when my nautical style hits the ground running (or should I say sailing!) and doesn't look back. Seeing as how it's still April, the weather can be hot and humid one day and rainy and chilly the next.

It's always a good idea to have a favorite sweater or sweatshirt on hand for layering when the chill hits the spring air. I layered this anchor print sweater on top of a crisp white button down shirt for a classic cool vibe. I'm wearing an XS, though usually I would have gotten an XXS. I decided I wanted the sweater to be a bit roomier for comfort purposes. If you want a more fitted look then go with the smaller size. Also, the anchor is actually a rose gold color! You know my love for all things rose gold. The white sailor shorts are the cutest too and perfect for any nautical style. The gold buttons actually have little anchors on them. I'm wearing my usual size 00 and found them to fit fine. The espadrille sneakers are currently on sale and a new favorite of mine! They are super comfy to wear all day and are the epitome of summer style.

Vintage Vibes Nautical Style

Happy Tuesday, friends! One of my favorite ways to be inspired is to watch either classic movies or look at vintage fashion ads/photographs. The 1940s through the early 1960s has always been my favorite time periods, especially for fashion. When it comes down to it, I'm totally a vintage babe at heart. I know many of my friends on here are also! This look has a vintage flare with nautical style. Nautical looks catch my eye right off the bat. I'm always drawn to them, whether they be preppy or whimsical, though nautical styles tend to always lean more on the preppy side than anything else.

When re-creating a vintage inspired look, its important to not include too many vintage items or else you look dated, unless that's what you're going for! My hat is from an antique shop and actually a vintage item. The red lips and pearls also give off a vintage flair. Without the hat and pearls though, this look wouldn't be as vintage-y and would have a very more modern edge to it. It just goes to show how a few accessories can completely change an outfit!

Happy Tuesday! Just a quick post for today with some nautical flair, which as you know I'm a huge fan of! Nautical styles, next to romantic, are my favorite to wear. I just picked up these sailor shorts at an H&M store and love the high waisted style with the gold buttons. The sweater actually has matching gold buttons along the shoulder. Usually, I would have gone for a blue striped sweater, but I have so many of them and decided to branch out a bit with the orange. I like it!

I'm headed off to see Shinedown live in concert in about an hour! I cannot wait. They are my favorite band and one I've seen multiple times in concert. They always put on a fantastic show!

Happy Wednesday, friends! One of my favorite inspirational styles to wear is nautical themes. Year round, but especially in the summer, I gravitate towards anchors, sail boats, and red, white, and blue color schemes. Without a doubt, you can almost always find me in something similar to this on the weekends when I want to feel relaxed, yet put together and polished. The outfit has a very Kennedy-esque look and feel to it. Totally Cape Cod chic! This classic navy blue polo is one that you'll be grabbing for every time! It is a fitted style, but not too tight with the slightest amount of stretch to it. The fabric is also lightweight making it a great layering piece. I paired mine here with a fitted blazer and white shorts, but you could also wear this polo with a chic pencil skirt or even a fun full circle skirt and some heels. Let's not forget the cute little heart necklace too! I love how dainty it is and of course the rose gold color. It's perfect for everyday wear or to give as a gift to someone special in your life.

When Life Gives You Lemons....

Lemon Dress sold out, similar favorites (here), (here), Longer version(here), and (here)|| Boater Hat || Kate Spade Bag || Similar Espadrille Sneakers || Rumba Time Watch c/o || Jean Jacket c/o || Starburst Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends and if you live on the east coast, that the rain didn't hamper you plans too much.

I don't know about you, but I love to travel. If at all possible, I jump at the opportunity to travel, explore, and have an adventure. Washington DC is one of the destinations that if I could live there, I would without hesitation. There is an energy to the city that I just eat up. Plus, the people are friendlier and the city is cleaner than others I've been too. The first day my dad and I arrived for our weekend trip, I wore this lemon printed dress with a darling neck tie and pleated skirt. Pretty much everything I love in a dress all rolled into one! I adore how vibrant the lemon print is with yellow flowers and a little ruffle hem at the sleeve. Unfortunately, it sold out pretty quick, but I have very similar ones linked here as well. We enjoyed cocktails and horderves on the rooftop terrace while the sun was setting. It was wonderful to chat and catch up while taking in all of the scenery around us.  Then we all got ready to stroll around town and eventually headed to dinner at Clyde's restaurant. Afterwards, we walked around town a bit more and topped off the night with some ice cream before heading back. Truly a magical night to remember!

Also, thanks to my dad for shooting all of the photos of me! He's one in a million <3

Happy Tuesday loves! Thank you once again for all of your kind wishes. It's hard to believe that Ava is here now and making our lives so full of love. She had her first doctors appointment yesterday and had a clean bill of health. I actually got three straight hours of sleep too! Oh the little blessings in life.

This was the last outfit I had being pregnant with Ava. A bittersweet post, but one that reminds me of the nine month journey we took together. When August arrives I always get excited for the upcoming fall season as you saw in some of my previous posts. I sometimes have to step back and think to myself that there is still some great summer weather left and to just enjoy that while I still can. Winter will be here before you know it. This look incorporates so many of my favorite things about summer from bright colors, straw hats, nautical themes, and white skinnies. The look is easy to achieve and one that will brighten any day!

One thing I love to do in the summer is cruise around the lake near our house with the windows down, breeze in my hair, and sunshine kissing my face. There's nothing quite like it and the relaxation puts me in the best mood. Justin and I make a habit of doing this a few times a week where we can catch up with what's been going on or simply sit back and just enjoy the scenery. For our most recent drive I wore a nautical outfit (I seem to be constantly in anything nautical once summer hits!) with this beautiful princess necklace from Rox N Bunny. The outfit reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear. I also love how this could totally be a transition outfit into the cooler months of fall as well. It was quite breezy out so the blazer was a must (and would be perfect for fall) or you could rock this outfit without the blazer in the warm summer sun. Enjoy your Tuesday everyone!

A very happy Thursday everyone! Lately I've been on the lookout for a nice Nautical dress. It just so happens that nautical styles are one of my most favorite. I do adore pastels and soft romantic colors, which you'll see me in most often, but the other side of me love everything and anything having to do with nautical vibes. I recently spotted this Ralph Lauren number and knew it would be great for anyone pregnant like me, or if you just want a pretty ruffled nautical dress. I put the belt up higher on my waist, but it is supposed to be worn lower as shown above. I'm wearing a size small for reference. The Express accessories, the blue clutch and panama hat, go perfectly with this ensemble and can be worn with so many different outfits. Shop the outfit with the links above. Enjoy!

This was one of my most favorite outfits that I wore on the trip. I had envisioned the nautical look and then hunted down the perfect pieces to create it. After staying with our friends over night, we traveled down the Pacific Coast Highway and eventually reached San Diego. This was our first day actually being in San Diego and we spent it on Coronado Island, my new paradise. We rode bikes around the island and watched the sunset on the beach. All of these pieces fit so perfectly together and I absolutely adore anything that has a nautical theme to it. I also love how all of these pieces can be worn with different outfits to create a completely new look.

Nautical

My nautical love has been going strong all Summer long and has no end in sight. As August heads into September, and we are all reminded that Autumn is approaching with the cool night air (it's been as low as 50 in the Northeast!) transitioning your clothing is now becoming required. Something as simple as a light blazer will do the trick. A cardigan will work as well, but blazers have a polished feel to them that a cardigan cannot match. This blue and white stripped dress, with gold accented jewelry, feels fresh and breezy for Summer. To combat the cooler night air, simply slip into a similarly styled blazer, this one from Banana Republic with subtle blue and white stripes, to keep you warm and perfectly polished as you make those Summer nights to remember.

Jewelry completes an outfit and can either make you feel dressed to the nines or subtly shimmering with key pieces placed here and there. Whatever your jewelry style may be, it goes without saying that these gems have an impact. I always use jewelry that is personal to me. Rarely do I ever wear something that was bought just because I thought it was pretty. There is always a story or a memory attached to mine. Here, the pin on the blazer belonged to my mom along with the anchor earrings, which I've been wearing all summer long. The necklace I received as a gift because of the nautical feel to it.

Summer Time Stripes

Beach Wear Approved

summer stripes

This quit essential summer outfit from Modcloth has it all. Seersucker, nautical stripes, and blue and green coloring all bring to mind an easy breezy beautiful summer day. I bought this dress last year for my families annual trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and I could not be more pleased with it. I added on a cream colored belt to cinch in my waist (always important to do!), a summery white hat, and of course wedges for walking around the boardwalk and not falling through the slats. Heels have their place, and I adore them dearly, but they are not appropriate for walking on a boardwalk, unless you want to fall through of course.

This shows the dolphin ring I have on. It was my mother's and possibly even bought down in Rehoboth Beach. She loved dolphins and would always be so excited to see them jumping in the air. It's the perfect compliment to any beach or summery outfit.

Casual Chic

The Kate Middleton

The Kate Middleton outfit

For anyone who knows me, it is no secret how much I admire Kate Middleton. The effect she has had on fashion is undeniable and I could not agree more that her style will leave a lasting mark for generations to come. After her successful trip down under with husband William and their adorable baby boy George, she is back in England doing what she does best. A recent outing with George had Kate wearing her quint essential casual outfit. The Kate Middleton outfit is classic, simple, and forever chic. To break it down, a stripped top, blue blazer, skinny jeans, and either wedges or boat shoes, though typically she wears wedges with the outfit. These are staple items that every woman should already have in her closet. Not to mention how great they are for summer with the nautical theme!

The Kate Middleton outfit

To keep with the great Kate, I wore my replica engagement ring and matching earring set. The ring was first given to Diana by Prince Charles. After her untimely death, William got the ring, and eventually presented it to Kate while proposing. I also have on a light house pin my mother had, which perfectly blends the nautical theme together.

Nifty Nautical

One thing I simply cannot get enough of in summer is nautical fashion. Whether it's stripes, anchors, sailboats or whales, I can never get my fill of the wonderfully classic style. The colors of red, white and blue (how patriotic!) always feel fresh and have such a timeless feel to them. Some nautical fashions also incorporate black and gray into the picture. As soon as the warmer weather hits, I immediately pull all of my nautical clothes out of their storage and start piecing together my outfits. From dresses to t-shirts, this style can fit any age and style you wish. This dress comprises of the ever popular blue and white stripe with a rope textured belt. The red and gold chained bag is elegant and stays true to the nautical feel. The hat, vintage of course!, fits right in with its navy blue color. The shoes, I cannot say enough how in love I am with this pair, are a bright retro red with red jewels on them. After my recent visit to Cape Cod, I feel even more attuned with all things nautical. Truly a summer staple that always delights. Ships Ahoy!

I purchased this ring up in Hyannis on Cape Cod. It is a reproduction of a sapphire ring Jacqueline Kennedy owned. She purchased the ring on a summer trip to Europe in the 1970s. Round simulated sapphires sparkle at the center of this 24K gold-plated ring. Two rows of clear and dark blue Swarovski crystals form a stunning circular pattern.
