4th of july

My Favorite 4th of July Looks

Happy Monday and welcome to July! With the 4th close at hand, I thought it would be fun to go through my favorite patriotic looks over the years for some inspiration. All feature red, white, and blue colors and can be easily re-created with staples in your closet, especially stripes! Looking back, almost every single outfit has stripes, and most notably my favorite hat from Vineyard Vines that I’ve had for years. While it’s no longer available on the site, I was able to find it here in what looks to be an online boutique shop. It’s also on sale!

Can you believe the 4th of July is right around the corner?! It’ll be here in the blink of an eye. It’s one of my favorite holidays to celebrate with all of the Americana, fireworks, warm summer sun, cookouts, s’mores, laughter, and fun. Even if you aren’t celebrating the 4th, these pieces are essential summer classics.

For my patriotic look above, I went with a classic blue shirt dress with super cute bell sleeves and my ever faithful Vineyard Vines Straw Hat. I pull this hat out every single summer and consider it one of my all time favorite summer accessories. To round off the look, I stayed with the red, white, and blue theme choosing red heeled sand also (a staple!), white sunglasses, and a blue and white ratan frame clutch.

4th Of July Inspiration 2017

It's hard to believe that July 4th is less than one week away already. They say that summer is half over by then! That's way too sad to think about right now, haha. I feel like summer just got started really. Regardless, today I'm rockin' the red, white, and blue combo, along with Ava!, for the upcoming American holiday. It's one of my favorite ones to celebrate with friends and family in the warm weather with fireworks, bbq's, and all of the American pride. The dress I'm wearing is an amazing dupe for the famous Self Portrait one. It's a good quality, fits true to size, and is only $50 compared to Self Portraits $500 price tag. You can't beat that! Ava is also wearing her red, white, and blue with her gold foil star dress. I saw this high-low dress back in May and saved it for the 4th. It's absolutely stunning in person, especially when the sunlight hits the gold stars.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July holiday! It's always nice to have the long weekend too. My dad, Ava, and Itook a quick trip down to Rehoboth Beach to cross an item off of my dad's bucket list. He's always wanted to see the fireworks on the beach for the 4th of July and in all the years we've been going there, 26 to be exact, we've never once gone on the patriotic holiday. The town was hustling and bustling with all kinds of activity, red, white, and blue displays of patriotism, and of course everyone gearing up for the big fireworks display on the beach Sunday night. I have to say, it was quite an amazing sight to see and it was Ava's first fireworks show!

There's nothing more festive than red, white, and blue themes for the summer holidays. It's a classic combination that never tires. Another staple in my wardrobe is stripes. I'm always adding more and more striped pieces into my wardrobe since I know I'll be wearing them so often. This midi skirt instantly caught my eye as being the perfect companion to my navy and white pieces. I don't own too many red items and knew this would fit right in. I love the quality of the fabric. It has a good weight to it and feels way more expensive than it really is. I'm wearing a size xs for reference.
