Vintage Vibes Nautical Style

Happy Tuesday, friends! One of my favorite ways to be inspired is to watch either classic movies or look at vintage fashion ads/photographs. The 1940s through the early 1960s has always been my favorite time periods, especially for fashion. When it comes down to it, I'm totally a vintage babe at heart. I know many of my friends on here are also! This look has a vintage flare with nautical style. Nautical looks catch my eye right off the bat. I'm always drawn to them, whether they be preppy or whimsical, though nautical styles tend to always lean more on the preppy side than anything else.

When re-creating a vintage inspired look, its important to not include too many vintage items or else you look dated, unless that's what you're going for! My hat is from an antique shop and actually a vintage item. The red lips and pearls also give off a vintage flair. Without the hat and pearls though, this look wouldn't be as vintage-y and would have a very more modern edge to it. It just goes to show how a few accessories can completely change an outfit!

Happy Monday, loves! This weekend flew by in a flash. Seriously, why does this always happen with the weekends?! For any mama's out there, I hope you had an amazing Mother's Day! I was able to celebrate my first one with family and close friends. They made the day absolutely magical with a brunch they put together and let me tell you, the details were incredible. I'll have to post some pictures from it later on. Below are two images of Ava and I from my instagram. My dad got me some flowers and also cooked a nice lobster dinner. It's a day that will go down in the memory books.

Ever since the cherry blossoms bloomed, all of my outfits seem to be revolving around pink! Not a bad thing ;) This skirt reminds me of candy stripes with its flirty feminine details. I went for a dressier vibe with heels and a silk bow tie blouse, but this skirt could also be dressed down with some cute flats and a chambray top. I've been obsessed with these color blocked heels ever since I got them! The bright colors are so fun and put a smile on my face. Plus, no pain after walking around all day in them!

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It always feels as if the weekend goes by in a blur of activity. I spent mine writing out thank you cards (so many!), having a meet and greet with some old time New York Yankee players, and taking a Sunday stroll with my dad and Ava to see the cherry blossoms that have finally bloomed in our area. They're absolutely beautiful.

One thing I love about rompers is that they're an outfit all in one! Very similar to a dress, but with shorts instead. This vibrant tropical print has me thinking of all things beach and summer related. Not to mention the material is silky and incredibly soft. The shoes and bag play off of the bright colors found in the romper. Can we take a moment to admire these heels too?! The color blocking trend started a few years back and has been going strong ever since. Done right, it can look very chic and put together. The colors used in these heels are some of my favorite and so easy to pair with different ensembles. For $9.99, they are a clear winner. I also walked around one of the local parks in these and found them to be pretty comfortable. No blistering at all! I'm also loving the little gold tassel detail on the turquoise bucket bag. This bag is another great use of "pop of color." With this outfit, I wanted everything to be vibrant and colorful. Think if you were wearing an all white or all black ensemble and then added in this bag. Its a great way to break up an outfit and has so much space inside.
