Slit-Sleeve Blouse

One color combo that I do not see utilized too often is red and pink, though they are totally fabulous together! I always end up pairing the two around the obvious Valentine's Day holiday, but thought it would be fun to do the mix in the summer. The easy-breezy feel of this blouse with metallic threading is cool and laid back with an elevated polished feeling. Did I mention metallic thread, haha? That is what originally caught my eye. The slits in the sleeves reminds me of the cold shoulder trend, but with a more refined look. The red skirt is what may draw the eye with this outfit, but the top has a subtle elegance that is the icing on the cake.

I hope everyone has been staying cool. It's been a sweltering heat wave here in PA. I've been trying to get all of my outdoor activities/errands done in either the early morning or late afternoon. Any other time of day and its like a sauna. Really looking forward to fall right about now, haha.

As I mentioned yesterday, my dad, Ava, and I all went antiquing on Saturday to our favorite spot and got some goodies while we were there. This is the outfit I wore since the weather was just starting to change over to getting warm, but not quite there yet haha. The red slouchy sweater felt absolutely amazing and kept me so warm, even without a coat. The only thing is the sleeves are on the bigger side and would completely cover my hands if I didn't push them up. When the wind picked up, I was ok with that, but otherwise, they can get in the way. I knew I wanted a monochromatic look to really stand out and chose this red flared skirt to match. I love the cute little floral cutouts on it. They add a nice unique detail. Check the end of the post for some extra photos at the antique mall.
