What was once one plant quickly turned into two, three, four, and so on when decorating my home. Not only do plants bring a piece of nature inside, but they also have a calming positive effect and purify the air from any harmful toxins. A win-win situation! Plus, they beautify the home. If you’re a beginner plant parent, I would suggest aloe vera, a snake plant, or a Chinese evergreen seeing as how they are relatively easy to take care of. The ever popular fiddle fig leaf tree is another great option, though they can be quite finicky and require a bit more care. They love a great deal of filtered sunlight (a south facing window is ideal) and regular cleaning of their leaves so they can take in as much sunlight as possible. I spray the leaves with a mister as well since they love a humid environment. Whatever your need, adding some plants to your home is a fantastic way to spruce it up, add a higher quality of air with natural air purifiers, and provide a calming space to live in.
