Good morning and happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Mine flew by, but was very productive and relaxing at the same time. Towards the beginning of the year, I had started to notice my favorite lipstick that I had been wearing for the past few years, Circa in the shade “Ava”, was starting to get low. I had always bought multiples of it since I tended to go through it so quickly. Much to my surprise, the brand had been discontinued with stores still carrying a few items until all of the products would eventually sell out. I tried looking everywhere, but the “Ava” shade, a popular one for good reason, was no where to be found. This started my journey to find a comparable lipstick in a shade matching the dusty pink rose I was so fond of. I tried a few different brands, but none lived up to my discontinued favorite.
In the fall I had stumbled upon Butter London’s lipstick and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find how much I liked the lipstick with its magnetic lid closure and creamy velvety texture. It feels pillowy soft on my lips! The formula also has slight plumping properties for fuller looking lips with a minty flavor. Nothing overwhelming and there’s definitely no tingly feeling from the plumping, which I stay away from. The shade “Smitten” is a beautiful dusty rose creme that would compliment most skin tones. It’s a true winner for me and the one i wear the most. I also have “Playful”, a warm rose creme that was Allure’s 2017 best of beauty award winner, and “Fab”, a rose creme shade.
