I don’t know about you, but Ava and I have been watching Christmas movies for the past few weeks now. Let’s be honest, it’s never too early to start watching them! We always start with our go-to favorites, A Christmas Story, It’s A Wonderful Life, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Elf, just to name a few. Another go-to Christmas movie destination is without a doubt Netflix. Each year they release their own original movies and also update their library with some classic favorites such as White Christmas, which we are watching in the above photos. You can’t beat the ending number where they all sing Bing’s forever classic song of the same name, White Christmas. There’s something for everyone on this list whether you like classics, comedy’s, romance, or adventure. Below is our list of current Christmas favorites from Netflix. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the shows!
White Christmas: The musical numbers, wardrobe, and gorgeous Vermont setting all make this a top Christmas movie classic that I’m beyond delighted to see on Netflix. Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera Ellen create magic with their musical extravaganza that I cannot get enough of. “Two war buddies fall for two sisters and follow the girls to a resort owned by their former commanding officer, who is in danger of losing the place.”
The Knight Before Christmas: This came out last week and we’ve already watched it twice. Ava fell in love with it, specifically Cole, who I think she has a little crush on. She has good taste too, Cole is quite handsome if I do say so myself! “Medieval magic sends a 14th-century knight to modern-day Ohio, where he falls for a high-school science teacher who’s disillusioned by love.”
Christmas Inheritance: “This daddy’s girl grew up spoiled and stylish in the big city. But a trip to a small town showed her life’s true gifts.”
A Christmas Prince : If you’re a fan of royal families, this one if for you! I cannot get enough of the British royal family, which made this an absolute must see. Plus, there’s two sequels to enjoy as well. “Christmas comes early for an aspiring young journalist when she’s sent abroad to get the scoop on a dashing young prince who’s poised to be king.”
The Royal Wedding: “A year after helping Richard secure the crown, Amber returns to Aldovia to plan their wedding. But her simple tastes clash with royal protocol.”
The Royal Baby ( out December 5th): “Christmas brings the ultimate gift to Aldovia: a royal baby. But first, Queen Amber must save her family and kingdom by unwrapping a monarchy mystery.”
The Nutcracker And The Four Realms: I saw this last year in theaters and enjoyed the most recent take on the classic Russian ballet. I loved listening to the music while growing up and will forever have a soft spot for it. My mom also had a small special Clara ornament we always hung on our family Christmas tree each year and still do to this day. “When her late mother gifts her a key, Clara embarks on a dreamlike journey full of fantasy and conflict in this retelling of the holiday classic.”
The Spirit Of Christmas (Available until December 1st): This was the first Netflix Christmas movie I watched last year and absolutely loved it! I’m sad to see it leaving on December 1st, which is why I wanted to get this list out a little early. It’s definitely worth viewing before it leaves their library. “As Christmas approaches, attorney Kate Jordan travels to Vermont to oversee the sale of an inn, where she falls for a handsome but cursed ghost.”
The Princess Switch: This charming movie retells the story of The Prince And the Pauper updating it to modern day with romances forming on both sides of the story. “When a down to earth Chicago baker and a soon-to-be princess discover the look like twins, they hatch a Christmastime plan to trade places.”
Let It Snow: This is admittedly more of a teen movie, but I still liked it and the evolving stories and romances behind each character. “A snow storm hit a small town on a cold Christmas Eve, affecting the friendships, love lives, and futures of several high school seniors.”
The Christmas Chronicles: A movie for the whole family to enjoy! “After accidentally crashing Santa’s sleigh, a brother and sister pull an all-nighter to save Christmas with a savvy, straight-talking St. Nick.”
The Grinch: This movie was a surprise treat that Ava and I saw last year in theaters. We were even more excited to see it on Netflix this year. It’s also the first movie Ava sat all the way through at the theater and we saw it a total of three times when it came out! We both enjoyed it so much that we’ve watched it multiple times since throughout the year. It’s an updated take on the classic Dr. Seuss story where The Grinch has “a flair for mean deeds and hampering happiness and he’s not about to let Christmas cramp his style.”
Christmas With A View: “Still reeling from a business failure, the restaurant manager or a ski resort finds her world jolted by a new chef , who has his own hidden past.” Not to mention, the chef is a total cutie.
