Rose Gold Bomber Jacket

Happy Friday, friends! This was our last full day in Valley Forge and again, it was absolutely spectacular weather. I took Ava over to Washington's Headquarters (the photos were taken at the train station a few feet away) where she could play and frolock in the leaves that had fallen to the ground. There was this beautiful golden yellow tree that had dropped a good amount of leaves and that's where we spent most of our time. It's also where the last photo here was taken. She really enjoyed herself! I also met some lovely people who also ended up being photographers. The one, Mike, had offered to take some photos of Ava and I with my camera for me. Thank you so much again Mike!! He took this last photo and absolutely captured the whole feeling of our trip. Diane was also taking some photos that day and ended up capturing some candid shots of Ava and I in the leaves. Thanks again for sending those along to me Diane!

This outfit is a glam version of your everyday casuals. That's what some metallic accessories will do for you! My favorite metallic has always been rose gold. It's a great alternative to yellow or white gold with your jewelry too. This bomber jacket is made from a quality satin and is fully lined. It was perfect for keeping me warm and stylish on a fall day. I actually never took it off the whole day. I'm wearing a US2 for reference. The best part? It's under $30! I've seen some other rose gold bomber jackets that are much higher priced and look exactly the same.

Valley Forge Layering

One of my favorite trips that my dad and I take each year is to Valley Forge. The national park is beyond beautiful with scenic views every where you turn. I am always at peace when I visit the park and find it to be so relaxing. Only a few minutes down the road is the famous King of Prussia mall and shopping district. You would never know there is a city or even a larger one (Philadelphia) nearby when you're actually at the park. It's a world onto itself.  I have a very special place in my heart for the area since Justin and I had lived nearby early in our relationship and then my dad and I started taking this weekend trip for his podiatry seminars.

The weather for the trip was insanely gorgeous. Clear blue sapphire skies with the golden sun shinning down creating warm days that are usually hard to find in November. A simple blazer was enough to be comfortable throughout the day. I wanted a relaxed weekend country look for being around the park using a red, pink, and blue color combo. An easy way to layer that isn't too bulky is to start with a tissue thin turtleneck followed by a button down shirt either tucked in or not. Top that off with a blazer and you're all set!

Dusty Rose

On our last day in the Finger Lakes, we made sure to stop in Hammondsport to browse the main street shops and have a little picnic by the lake. This town was even voted the coolest small town in America in 2012! Pretty neat and I completely agree. You'll find bakeries, coffee shops, cafe's, restaurants, antique stores, art galleries, and a smattering of other stores carrying knick knacks and little goodies to keep your interests satisfied. There is one place to stay in town, the Keuka Lakeside Inn, which Justin and I stayed at before and fell even more in love with the town, and also some bigger places out on the main highway. The Inn is located right on Keuka lake. Bully Hill is also located right above the town, which I why we probably started staying there to begin with.

For our day in town I wanted to wear my favorite color in a fall appropriate hue. I've been drooling over all things dusty rose lately and cannot seem to get enough of it. This coat is beyond dreamy in a unstructured style made with a luxuriously soft wool-cashmere blend. It's one of the most beautifully elegant coats I've ever seen. To compliment the coat, I paired this pink buffalo plaid scarf with the creamy sweater for a soft weekend look. The scarf is oversized and seriously soft. You can wear it like I am or draped over your shoulders as a shawl. Need I say more about the pink too, haha?! I can imagine trading the jeans and riding boots for some trousers in either a matching dusty rose or gray along with heels for an office appropriate look. This coat can carry you from work, to weekend, to dinner dates without any hesitation.

Fall Colors In The Finger Lakes

Woolrich Peacoat || Green Sweater || Blue Blazer || AG Skinny Jeans || Tory Burch Riding Boots || Kate Spade Bag || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Quiz Rose Gold Earrings c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band ||

One trip I would look forward to every fall was to the finger lakes. It's where Justin and I went on our "mini moon" and continued to go back almost every year. We both completely fell in love with the area, scenery and how relaxing it is. The weekend after our wedding we took a small trip there to celebrate since we wouldn't be taking our big honeymoon for a few more months. We were never into the wine hopping tour scene, but rather went to only a few select favorites. In recent years, that solely became Bully Hill vineyards. Our favorite wine there is called Ravat 51, a sweet tropical wine that tastes like pineapples. Each little town has a main street with charming stores, coffee shops, restaurants and breathtaking views. Whether its one of the lakes, waterfalls, or simply gazing upon the changing leaves, there is a beautiful scene everywhere you look. I even think it looks a bit like Scotland in some of the shots I took, especially since I've been watching Outlander, which takes place in Scotland haha. Great show.

I knew I would layering on this trip since the weather was supposed to be cool, cloudy, and with some rain. It even flurried for a bit! I was not prepared for it to be that cold. I do love layering though. So many different combinations and options! I simply adore this bright yellow peacoat and how gorgeously the color pops. The perfect color to compliment the fall leaves and it brightens up a gloomy day. The color combination is deliciously fall inspired. For reference, I'm wearing an xs in the coat and a 00 in the sweater and blazer.

Marled Turtleneck // Rainy Days

Hello, friends and happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We had a rainy one as predicted so this post is pretty appropriate. It had also rained a few of the days we were in Rehoboth. While I'd rather it not rain on vacation, it is nice to have some rainy days at home. That always means cozy cuddle time inside with my little love bug! It allows me to also catch up on any reading, movies, tv shows, or chores that I've fallen behind on. I picked up this top (similar) a few weeks ago in preparation for our trip. I love turtlenecks for layering and could not beat the softness and gray color. This time of the year, the weather is so unpredictable at the beach so I needed to bring items that would be versatile and allow me to layer on or off depending on the temperature. This casual look was great for walking around the town and doing a bit of sight seeing.

White Lace // Two Ways

Happy Friday! One of my favorite things about the beginning of fall is still being able to wear summer pieces with light layering. It's hard to believe that only 1 week ago I was able to wear this dress comfortably and now, back in PA, its cold, windy, and rainy. Yesterday, Ava and I just spent the day cuddling inside watching classic movies and polishing off a whole bag of gold fish. I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it in the store. The delicate lace mixed with the bell sleeves and open back is so dreamy and whimsical. Plus, it's under $30. To switch to a more fall appropriate look, I added this utility vest, black hat, and swapped out the pink sunnies for rose gold ray bans. The vest is a great piece for layering with effortless style.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's supposed to be more of the same weather around here with the cold and rain. Booo. Looks like Ava and I will be catching up on more classic movies and snacks. Not too bad lol. ;)

Little Gray Dress

This flowy marbled swing dress is one of those dresses you can simply throw on with ease and head out the door. It's so comfy and I've been gravitating towards gray colors lately. It's fantastic to pair with olive, burgundy, and blush. Some of my fall favorites! I wore this out for our first night in Rehoboth. It was the first time that I had worn these heels and they do need to be broken in a bit before they feel comfortable. They do fit true to size though. The lace ups are totally eye catching and on trend.

I've got so many photos still to edit from our trip!  I'm thinking of doing a separate post on just the family photos once they're all done. This always happens with my vacation photos. I end up taking so many and then procrastinate on editing them. Does this happen to anyone else with their vacation photos??

The Blue Peter Pan

Hey all! Happy Wednesday. It's no secret that I'm such a sucker for peter pan collars As soon as I see one, I instantly go weak in the knees! This blue dress from Dressfo features a peter pan collar, fit and flare waist, and a subtle floral pattern running vertically along the chest. I'm wearing a size small and find it to be true to size. It's just slightly tight in the arms, but nothing bad. The blue color is so striking and pairs wonderfully with burgundy for the fall. This dress is under $30 making it a fantastic deal for the amount of wear you can get out of it. I was even a bit warm while wearing it during the day so there's no doubt it'll keep you toasty. The day started started out being cooler and turned warm once the sun showed up later in the afternoon. That's fall weather for you!

Pink Lace Dress

Pink Lace Dress || Keds Sneaks || Pink Sunglasses || Mini Burgundy Saddle Bag || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Humble Chic Earrings c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band ||

Happy Monday! This past week my family and I had our annual family vacation in Rehoboth Beach, which was much needed if I do say so myself. We all had a great time and felt so thankful to be able to spend some quality time together. We had just about every type of weather you can think of for the fall, but honestly I really enjoyed that! Some days were sunny and hot, some were cloudy and cool, some were windy, and some were rainy. There was very limited wifi where we stayed so I wasn't able to use my laptop. It was nice to unplug for a bit and yet still have a little bit of access to what was going on in the world. Ava did absolutely amazing too! She really is a trooper on all of my trips. Traveling with kids is not the most relaxing thing in the world, but it does bring so much joy to watch them having fun and experience all of these new things with you.

On one of the hot days I was able to pull out this pink lace dress. It fits my body incredibly well (wearing a small) and has the prettiest crochet lace details and cut out in the back. How gorgeous is the eyelash trim on the bottom hem too?! Obviously, I adore the blush color. Even though its fall now where burgundy and olive reign supreme, I still love to wear colors that would be considered more for spring and summer. Think a pink sweater or coat that will look just as chic in the fall or winter and let you stand out from a crowd of darker hues.

Red, White, and Blue Plaid

Plaid Top (Under $20!) || A&G Jeans || Marc Fisher Heels || Tory Burch Bag || Karen Walker Sunnies || Humble Chic Stud Earrings c/o || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Unity Band ||

Plaid has always been a fall favorite of mine. It's the one pattern that I always turn to and know how easy it is to dress up or down. I personally love wearing it on the weekends for a casual cool look. This top is so comfy and will definitely keep you warm in the cooler temps. I was actually a bit too hot on our Jim Thorpe trip wearing this. The afternoon hours ended up being a bit warmer than expected. On the flip side, it's good to know how cozy it'll keep you in the crisp fall air! I love the patriotic colors, which were perfect for the Labor Day weekend.

The weather has been jumping all over the place in PA. One day it'll be nice and cool in the low 70s and then the next it'll jump right back to the humid 90s of summer. I feel that's how fall always is around my area. Layers are essential! September has always been one of my favorite months, May being the other. The sky always appears to be sapphire blue in September with still warm days and cool nights. I was always excited to go back to school too, haha. Yep, I was one of those kids. Maybe it was just the back to school shopping lol. In any case, September has that feeling of starting anew, most likely because of the new school year, just like May has the same feeling because of Spring blooming.

Pink and Teal Flare

My last day in D.C. was spent at the National Harbor, which is such a cute to visit! Lots of little shops (South Moon Under, one of my fave's!) and restaurants line the streets, while the harbor has a ferris wheel, boating, and one of the most amazing hotels I've seen. It's actually the convention center, but wow, the inside was breathtaking. I have some more photos of it below. It's where these photos were taken. The one wall is all windows looking out upon the harbor. Quite a site to see! There is even a little village set up on the ground floor.

This skirt is actually part of a matching set with a crop top, but I decided to switch it out for a bright pop of color with this swing top. The teal really makes a statement while the skirt has that effortless swish I love so much. Plus, I mean hello, pink! I adore how the skirt has a vintage feel to it that simply makes me smile. That's one of the great things about having an outfit that comes as a set, you can switch out the pieces for multiple looks.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Dark Floral Dress // The Kennedy Center

DownEast Basics Dress c/o || Tignanello Bag c/o || Boater Hat || Flats (similar lace ups here) || Karen Walker Sunnies || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band || Humble Chic Olive Branch Earrings c/o ||

I have to say I am beyond excited for fall to get here. I'm always excited for the next season when it is about one month away. That being said, the season after fall I am not so excited for, haha. I'm soaking up as much summer as I can while slowly transitioning over to my fall wardrobe. Dark florals are a fantastic way to still wear summer staples that look and feel like fall. This midi dress with pleating, perfect for twirls!, is so beautiful for wearing throughout the day and even into night. While I was in DC, I wore this to explore the Kennedy Center and then out to dinner and drinks with some friends. The Tignanello bag was a perfect match for the subtle pink flowers in the dress. The shade is called Peony, though it reminds me more of a rose. I love the lady like dome shape and have been carrying this everywhere lately, even to the Shinedown concert last night, which was fantastic by the way!

The Kennedy Center is showing The Phantom of the Opera right now until August 20th. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the signs and costumes out on display. Phantom is favorite Broadway play and one of my favorite movies. I wish I had known ahead of time, I would have gone! I have seen it in New York a few years ago. Kennedy and Phantom in one building (enter the heart eye emoji here.) My cousin took me all around the building and then eventually out onto the roof where the outfit photos were taken. If you have not ever been, I would highly recommend visiting and taking in a show. Even the staff members were a delight to talk to.

Nautical in the City

Happy Tuesday! Just a quick post for today with some nautical flair, which as you know I'm a huge fan of! Nautical styles, next to romantic, are my favorite to wear. I just picked up these sailor shorts at an H&M store and love the high waisted style with the gold buttons. The sweater actually has matching gold buttons along the shoulder. Usually, I would have gone for a blue striped sweater, but I have so many of them and decided to branch out a bit with the orange. I like it!

I'm headed off to see Shinedown live in concert in about an hour! I cannot wait. They are my favorite band and one I've seen multiple times in concert. They always put on a fantastic show!

I've had a long standing girl crush on pleats for quite some time now. They're perfect for twirling in and have the best feminine flair! I love how having pleats on the top and bottom make this outfit look like a dress, while actually being a top and skirt. The bright rainbow colors are fabulous for summer and bring a cheeriness to the entire look. I got this top in the store, but could not find it online, although the dress version (which is gorgeous) is still available and is on sale for under $25 right now! I wore this look while strolling around in Washington D.C. in the simmering heat. The humidity was unbearable! Thankfully, the museums all have amazing air conditioning, haha.

Blue Striped Ruffle Top

The one thing I wanted to make sure I did while in Philly was take Ava to the zoo. What a wonderful time we had! You cannot really see in the first two zoo photos, but there is a tiger behind us haha. I had Ava in her tiger outfit that Justin and I picked out for her while we were at the San Diego zoo last year. I could not wait for her to be big enough to fit into the outfit and then to finally take her to a zoo while wearing it. She's my little tigress! The cutest event that happened was when, I'm assuming it is the mother, giraffe went over to one of the baby giraffe and started nuzzling it. Everyone went "aaaawwwwwww." My heart melted right there! This blue striped ruffle sleeve top is perfect for a summer outing. I love the nautical vibe, but these fun feminine ruffles are what really get me! They're too cute to pass up, plus the top is under $15. I'm wearing an XS.

Floral Organza Dress

A wonderful Monday to everyone! This was one of my favorite days of our Philly trip. We got so much accomplished in one day! We met up with my blogger babe Pri of Paint The Town Chic and went all about town. I have been dying to wear this garden organza dress for some time now and love how pretty it is to stroll around the city in. The intricate detailing of the floral pattern, along with the silky organza layering.  The colorful embroidery feels extra feminine and charming! I'm wearing an XS for reference.

To start the day off we ate at the Reading Terminal to eat (is there any place else haha?!) and then went to the top of the One Liberty Building to their observation deck. The weather was fantastic to look out upon the city below. Below are photos of our adventure throughout the day. Next we did a bit of shopping and then headed back to city hall so Ava could play in the water. She had a blast! After that, we headed back to the hotel to chat and then let Ava take her nap. Later on, my dad, Ava, and I all headed down to Penn's Landing, which everyone recommended!, to spend some time by the river and see all of the events happening down there. As you can see from the photos, it looked like it was about to down pour, but it thankfully held off until very late that night. I definitely would recommend visiting Penn's Landing for anyone traveling to Philly. Especially around twilight when the lights are turned on. Magical!

Striped Fit and Flare

Bias Stripe Dress || Kate Spade Bag || Similar Heels || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Vineyard Vines Belt || Humble Chic Earrings c/o || Sunnies ||

Happy Friday, everyone! It would seem that all I've been wearing lately is stripes! While that is certainly not the case, I do wear them quite frequently. This dress caught my eye because of the beautiful sturdy fabric, midi length, and the way the stripes were patterned. While not vertical or horizontal, these bias stripes compliment the curves of the body. The cut in arm openings also are high enough not to allow any gaping (with the dreaded bra showing) and also make the shoulders and arms appear to be more toned. Win! There is a black leather belt that comes with the dress, but I switched it out for my Vineyard Vines anchor belt. Confession, I had this belt on upside down for about half of the day before I realized it! I was so embarrassed, haha. Oh well, those things do happen every now and then.

We were able to meet up with my good friend Rhina and have some dinner and go shopping. It was wonderful to catch up. One of my favorite parts of the night happened at dinner. This is when Ava met her first boyfriend lol. He was our waiter at an Irish Pub and absolutely one of the best I've ever seen around kids. Ava was enamored with him from the moment she saw him. He would talk to her and play games. She watched for him every time he passed by. It really was the sweetest thing. I made sure to get a photo of the two of them together. Just look at how she's looking at him!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Below are some of the family photos.

On our second day in Philly, we did lots and lots of exploring! We went to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and various shops. The historic part of Philly is so beautiful and a treasure trove of interesting sights and museums. You can never go wrong with stripes and needless to say I've always been a bit obsessed with them! They have a preppy nautical feel that I just adore. This shirt is so lightweight and comfortable to wear in the high heat. It also has great versatility, being able to wear it in the office with some khaki slacks, white shorts or blue jeans on the weekend, or even with a skirt for date night. The pink striped shorts have me feeling all kinds of happy! They're on sale now for $19.50 too. They are beyond cute and kind of remind me of candy, haha. Not a bad thing!

Cold Shoulder Lemon Top

I'm not going to lie, I definitely have a thing for lemon prints! I love how fun, summery, and sun shine yellow they are. This cold shoulder top is perfect for summer and is made from a thin light cotton. The lemon print is bright and vibrant, sure to make anyone smile! I wore this look for a our first day in Philadelphia two weeks ago. Let me tell you, summer in the city is sweltering. These photos were actually taken down by the convention center where the Democratic Nationals Convention is taking place right now. One of the first things we did when we arrived was head to the Reading Terminal to grab a bite to eat. You can find almost any kind of food there. It is beyond belief. I love it there and can't help but to always think of the movie National Treasure while walking through the aisles. Afterwards, we walked around a bit before settling in for the night.

Flowy Dress in Rehoboth

Printed High-Low Dress || Sandals also in black || Kate Spade Bag || Sunnies || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Unity Band ||

When I'm at the beach I love to wear easy breezy dresses that flow beautifully with the summer wind. After spending the day on the hot sand, I slipped into this silky dress for a night out on the town. The print on this dress reminded me of palms and had me dreaming of a tropical escape. The high-low design is especially good for us shorter gals! The bodice has boning in it for uplifting support while the neck tie can actually be removed to create a strapless dress. This dress felt amazing in the hazy hot humidity that hung around all day. I paired these lace up gladiator sandals with the outfit. The metallic and white elements are striking and great for summertime.
