It’s the simple things in life that truly captures our hearts and leaves us with lasting memories for a lifetime. The warm summer wind gently rustling through the trees while the sunshine filters in through the leaves. The birds chirping and the bees buzzing by while you lose yourself in the pages of a book. Gazing up upon the clouds as they slowly drift by and change their shape into items our imagination creates. Simple pleasures to enjoy.

Among the delights of Summer were picnics to the woods.
— Georg Brandes

One of my fondest memories growing up was going for picnics, whether big or small, planned or impromptu, inside or out, fancy or kid friendly, they are memories I cherish to this day. My picnic basket is in heavy rotation during the carefree summer months, but also sees quite a bit of use during the spring and fall months as well.

Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.
— Jenny Han

Painting rocks has become quite the phenomenon and one that can get the creative juices flowing. A bonus, besides promoting creativity, is being able to decorate outside with the painted rocks or leaving them along a walking trail for others to see or collect to enjoy.

There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.
— Celia Thaxter
