Take time to smell the roses. Take time to stop, slow down for a bit, and appreciate the small beauties of everyday life. When time allows, an afternoon tea break does just that. It’s a small break in the day to relax, sip some tea and enjoy a delicious snack or two.

There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.
— Henry James

Break out your finest and prettiest dishes for everyday use as well. Why keep them hidden away for special occasions or a holiday? Use them, appreciate their beauty, and enjoy the memories they create. Whether for an afternoon tea, a weekday dinner, or a Saturday morning breakfast, do not let these elegant pieces collect dust.

Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors.
— Alice Walker

The tradition of tea time tarted with my mom and I, though we typically did ours at night. She was a big fan of tea and got me started on my love for the soothing drink. We would watch Murder, She Wrote, sip on our tea (usually strawberry flavored) and munch on maple cookies. It’s a memory I cherish and hold quite close to my heart. Something so simple yet so memorable and one I carry on to this day.

You can’t get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
— C.S. Lewis
