The Colors That Make Me Happy

Good morning, friends! I always feel my best when I’m wearing a certain color or color combination that I love. They brighten my mood and put a smile on my face. I tend not shy away from wearing pastels in the fall and winter nor do I from wearing mustard or an olive green in the spring and summer. Simply put, if a color makes you happy, rock it whenever you want! I honestly did not even realize until I was putting this post together that I was wearing all of my favorite colors and ones that have meaning for me. It was an outfit to cheer up a day that started out very gray and dull (the sun came out towards the end of the day much to everyone’s surprise.)

I have an old dress from Modcloth I like to call my lemonade dress. It’s a punchy pink on top with a bow tie neck and a bright yellow pleated skirt. It is one of my all time favorites and served as inspiration for this particular look. I started with the mustard circle skirt, that flows and swish’s so very beautifully, topped off with a very lightweight blush turtleneck. As soon as the weather starts to cool,  I bring out all of my turtlenecks, which are my go-to for simple layering. These velvet heels not only feel incredibly comfortable to wear, but they're also chic and add a bit of luxe to any ensemble. The color online says taupe, but to me and just about everyone else who saw them, they look purple, another special and sentimental color for me. It was my mother’s favorite and one that will always remind me of her. The navy bag adds a feminine touch with its stunning embroidered floral design in shades of pink and green. Last, but not least, the burgundy knit blazer. This is another piece I’ve had from LC Lauren Conrad for many years. Its a workhorse blazer in my closet. I’ve worn it so many times and it never disappoints. The color adds such richness to an outfit.

How To Wear Blush In The Fall

Blush Sweater || Blazer || Houndstooth Ruffle Skirt || Blush Vanity Bag || Burgundy Heels (Old, Similar) || Tortoise Necklace || Ava Bracelet || Ava’s Dress ||

Good morning and happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did some antiquing and hit up a local craft show and a harvest fest, both of which were fabulous! They definitely put me in a fall state of mind, even though the weather decided to switch back to summer for a brief period. We had temperatures reaching into the 90s. Also, for my friends and family in the southeastern part of the U.S., specifically North and South Carolina, please stay safe! We’re praying for you!

While I love the rich hues of autumn, there is one color I wear year round, regardless of the season. Some may shy away from blush or rosy colors this time of the year, but they blend beautifully with fall’s vibrant color palette. On Ava, we see the very popular color combo of gray and pink, usually mixed with some white, for fall. Imagine a cozy pink sweater with white jeans and gray suede over the knee boots. I’m wearing some warmer tones to mix blush with and the ever popular classic houndstooth print. Pairing an accessory in blush can be an alternative way to work the color into your autumn ensemble as well. This vanity box bag, which Ava and I both love!, has a wonderful vintage vibe that works very well with the nostalgic feeling Fall tends to have. The color is gorgeous along with the gold hardware.

Good morning and happy Monday!  It is a very happy Monday indeed. Last night ended the four day streak of nonstop rain that we’ve had and that is reason enough to celebrate! I hope everyone had a great weekend too. Ours was pretty low key with the weather, but we did manage to get out for some Sabatoni’s pizza, had a movie night and did a ton of crafts. Knowing ahead of time that the weather was going to be gloomy, I went to Target and got kids crafting items from their dollar spot section. They have so many cool items right now in preparation for spring!

To continue with the happy mood, today’s feature is a pink and polka dot combo that is sure to brighten any day and put a smile on your face. Anything pink is an instant mood lifter for me! Polka dots are one of the big trends for spring and this button down top is a great way to incorporate the look into your wardrobe. I love the girly bow tie at the neck! This top is a steal at only $13 and fits true to size. I have on a small. I’ve worn this top multiple times since taking these pictures and love it immensely. I was wearing it during the instastories video I did on Saturday. I want to thank everyone for your encouraging and uplifting words regarding the video on my journey with acne too! I’m thinking I may turn it into a blog post now.

Three Bows In A Row

Blush Bow Dress c/o || Similar Multi Color Pumps || Similar Blush Circle Bag || Stella & Dot Pixie Earrings || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring || Jackie Kennedy Pink Diamond Ring ||

Hello and happy Monday, everyone!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I went to go see The Greatest Showman about P. T. Barnum and let me tell you, WOW! I left the theater feeling absolutely dazzled! The songs were upbeat and uplifting, the performances above par, and the scenery was magical. You could not help but to smile. This film is what makes a movie musical great!

This blush bow dress is the embodiment of romantic whimsy. I cannot get over the darling bows either! They make the dress stand out and give the classic shirt dress style some feminine charm. Transcending all areas, this dress can be worn as a party dress, out for date night, brunch with the girls, or even just around town. I found the dress to fit true to size (I’m wearing an XS) and it’s only $28. I am completely smitten with this dress!

Star Light, Star Bright

Pink Star Top c/o || White Jeans || Cross Body Bag || Glitter Mules || DW Rose Gold Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Stella & Dot Brier Ring || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring ||

Good morning, friends!  I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was very eventful and the weather even warmed up, but i’ll get to that in a little bit.

As some of you may or may not know, I have a bit of thing for the star print trend and fell head over heels in love with this top the moment I saw it. The stars are gold foil (my favorite) while the sleeves are beautifully tiered and ever so feminine in the prettiest shade of blush. Sigh. It is one of the loveliest tops I have ever seen. Every detail speaks to me and makes my eyes light up. The top is sheer and does need a camisole underneath. Though we are still in winter, I wanted the outfit to have an air of spring about it pairing the colors of blush, white, and gold together for an effervescent feel.

This weekend was a blast! First, we had a warm up with temperatures in the 40s. It felt so warm! It’s funny how the 40s in winter feel like a heatwave, while the 40s in fall feel like an arctic blast. I also took Ava to see her first movie on the silver screen. My friend was going with her son and invited us along to see Paddington 2. I wasn’t sure how long Ava would sit for the movie, but she made it about one hour, which was longer than I thought she would. It was a good first experience! I also got out for a girls night to see the new Fifty Shades movie. Oh the end of an era, haha. All of us have gone to see each movie together so it was fun to go see the finale. I was pregnant with Ava when we went to see the first one, which is crazy to think about. Lastly, I started watching This Is Us after hearing so many people rave about it. I know I know, I’m late to the party, but it IS THAT GOOD. Definitely go start watching it if you haven’t already. The first two episodes set up everything and have some surprises in them. Excellent writing.

Polka Dots & Blush

Polka Dot Top || Pink Suede Skirt c/o || Similar Pink Blazer || Kate Spade Polka Dot Bag || Similar Red Shoes || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Stella & Dot Brier Ring || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring ||

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! Hopefully wherever you are it’s not  snowing up to 8 inches like it is here. Regardless, today’s look is all about some flirty feminine fun! This outfit combines just the right amount girliness with a little bit is sass and as I just mentioned, a whole lot of fun. Polka dots are big for spring and are being seen everywhere. It’s a print that has never really gone out of style and always reminds me of my vintage vixens. This suede mini skirt is so soft to touch with the prettiest pleats. They also have built in shorts underneath, which is awesome, so no bending over accidents happen, haha. This outfit would be another fabulous look for Valentine’s Day!
